Live Grasshoppers, Butterflies, & Cockroaches...

Featured Replies

any idea on where I can get these things, but in a live state?

I have seen many along the roadsides being sold dead of course, with the exception of butterflies..

Any clues would be great.

ps. It really is a serious question.. but, will accept the jokes that will surely follow too.

thanks

I suggest that you hunt for your own insects.

Are you planning on eating them?

Entomophagy is not for everyone. Although many insects are nutritious, some can cause severe (human body) reaction and cause minor sickness and loose bowels. The reason for this can be the fact that some insects eat human poisons.

Good luck in your quest.

If you are really intent on fresh food anything flying

is probably fair game.

But DO NOT shoot a buffalo.

Firstly it belongs to somebody.

And even if it doesn't look sick their are probably

three farangs contributing to it's health care.

:o

I know where you can get crabs, do you want those too? :o

not this lifetime.. just need them for possible filming in Thailand for TV..

still searching..

Geez, Magic. Every kitchen has cockroaches. Every hong nam has spiders. Every garden with Ixora has butterflies. Grasshoppers? In the grass, I guess.

There are a lot of butterflies now in the north - easy to catch. Some very attractive, big blue wings.

Cicadas will be in the trees soon.... around here they just pick off the wings and pop 'em in their mouths.. :o

Oh, toster, thanks for sharing that with us. I hope they keep the wings for duvet down.

Well, try walking the streets during the night. Once, I was accompanied by at least 100 cockroaches (the Wat Don Muan street, near the banks on the left side, maybe a mile from the Wat on the left). ** waiting for a bus might let you encouter incredibly brazen rats. Bring some food along and you might become very popular :o
