I hate to say this, but I agree with those who say that those below a certain line in the system of hierarchy are effectively disposable. I don't disapprove of prostitution, but I disapprove of a national attitude toward the unnecessary of quality education and the uneven distribution of opportunity that leaves many with very few options. A woman should not be left so desperate as I see many. A few simple social policies, like a system forcing men, even on threat of jail, to contribute to the upbringing of the children they procreate, would make a big difference.

Yes, we are discussing two different categories of course. Sex with minors is illegal. Most girls up our way are pregnant by 16 or 15. Partnered or not. How do you deal with sexually mature youngsters, who will do anything to get their school fees or help their ageing parents or grandparents?

 

The whole issue is so out of control due to the poverty and the refusal by government to do anything constructive other than initiate draconian laws and fine the desperate "victims" involved and imprison as many people as possible.

 

The answer in a high tech country like America is, privatise prisons and make money out of incarceration and misery.

We have a girl there who has 4 children by the time she is 15. The prostitution market includes most online dating sites where many of these girls are seeking "any" relationship they can get with some kindly gent up to 90 years old.

No easy answers here, but the attitude at the top is total hypocrisy and very short on imagination. Just knee jerking and face saving.
