Video: Why not use the door? - Thai man impales himself on Pattaya gate

PATTAYA: -- Paramedics were called to a soi in Pattaya after a drunk Thai man impaled himself on a metal gate on Saturday night.

 

Passersby on a motorcycle heard the cries of Thanikun Khianchaiphoom, 34, as he held onto the top of the gate at Radee Mansion in Soi Phaniat Chang 6.

 

While a video showed Sawang Boriboon medics cut him free in a twenty minute operation a rather rotund and unidentified foreigner came out to give his opinion.

 

Several people asked Thanikun what he was up to, and the police were on the scene but the victim was paralytic and incoherent.

 

Someone who seemed to know him asked why he didn't use the door.

 

Siamchon News mentioned no charges just that the victim was taken to Bang Lamung hospital after he was cut free.

Erm isn't the worst thing you can do in these situations is lift the guy off the spike ?? As the "Rotund guy" suggests??..the guy would probably bleed out..that is why they would cut the spike below the guy and take him and the spike to hospital to remove it in controlled conditions or maybe the rotund guy is a Thaivisa medical  expert in his spare time ???

article fails to mention if the operation to free him was to cut the spike or amputate his limb proximally?

He's the guy who has installed the rather harsh speed bumps in front of his place..... probably doesn't want his fence damaged thanks to a drunken idiot.

He even piled rocks at the edges to make sure the bikes were unable to drive around the edge. His 'mansion' is on a cut through to/from Sukhumvit

Jesus.  They got more service people responding there than you would see in an entire hospital.  Must be a slow night

yeah, if stupidity was a crime, we would have more people in prison than outside those prisons
