January 3, 200719 yr The internet is c r a p now due to the earthquake damage to the fiber optic cables. Nothing that requires downloading is working well and you are not the first person to speak about Limewire not working at all. Until conditions improve it will be hard to determine if you really have a circuit problem here or it is the general internet.
January 4, 200719 yr I second the above reply. Have been readin from various south east asian based posters that they are having trouble with shareware stuff. The programs are all running fine, and probably your pc and conection is running fine, but the problem is with the ISP's and their communication probs. regards, Kayo!
January 4, 200719 yr With international bandwidth at a premium due to the cable outages, some ISPs may be blocking P2P as well.
January 4, 200719 yr I'm using TOT to. I've been puffing away on a 4.3 gig torrent since yesterday, no problems here ! I get a steady 100 kB/s bedwrecker, don't forget to set a static ip, if you forgot. Edited January 4, 200719 yr by friend2

January 4, 200719 yr If you are going to forward any ports from your router, you'll need an static ip. Here's a good reference site that has setup instructions for most of e'm: http://www.portforward.com/ This is especially important for p2p appz. being portforwarded makes you "visible" to the other clients on the network. Hence it'll improve d/l speed. Edited January 4, 200719 yr by friend2
