Help in extending single entry 90-day Non-immigrant "0"

Featured Replies

Normally the consulate in Amsterdam gives Multiple entry Non-imm "o" visas in two days. I stay in Thailand about 7 months each year. This year the rules were changed....nothing new for Thai immigration - and they would give me only a single entry 90 day visa. Only by going to the Embassy in The Hague could I have a multiple entry visa and I didn't have enough time.

Can you suggest the best way to extend this visa for as long as possible or must I try to get a 60 day entry by leaving the country and returning by air ? Thanks

You cannot extend a Non Imm O Visa.

If you need 7 months, perhaps 1 x Tourist Visa = 60 days + 30 day extension = 90 days, then 1 x Visa exempt entry = 30 days.

Long term have you considered an extension of stay based on retirement.

If you are married to a Thai or have Thai children you can extend by 60 days.

You could get a 30-day entry that way, and that entry could be extended for 30-days more at Immigration.  The only way to get 60-days on-entry is to get a Thai Tourist Visa while out of the country, and return using that for entry.

As @PoorSucker mentioned, you can get a 60-day extension, to visit your wife, without leaving the country.  She would need to go with you to immigration to get it - and bring her ID and signed copy of her Tabien Bahn.  You may also need proof of where you live.  Policies regarding reporting your location upon arrival and/or residence-documents needed to apply for an extension of stay vary by immigration-office.

Thanks for the tips. I'm not married to a Thai lady.

Thai Immigration has nothing to do with visas issued by consulates.
