snoop1130 Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Still no decision on central procurement of medical supplies By The Nation It remains undecided as to how relevant authorities will handle the central procurement of medical supplies for the universal healthcare scheme in the coming fiscal year, which starts on October 1. Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said on Tuesday that the Public Health Ministry and the National Health Security Office (NHSO) had not yet chosen a solution. Problems about the procurement started after the Office of the Auditor General said the NHSO did not have the legal power to buy medical supplies. However, the NHSO has handled such purchasing for more than a decade. Since the legal mandate of the NHSO was questioned, relevant authorities have held a series of meetings to explore possible solutions. “I expect to get information back within the next one or two days,” Wissanu said.
