Top government aide in town to see how Pattaya's image is progressing

PATTAYA: -- A top Interior Ministry aide was welcomed To Pattaya by local dignitaries on Tuesday.

Aide to the interior minister Natthapich Sanitwong Na Ayudhya was looking at how the resort was dealing with crime and addressing its poor image. He also wanted to see how plans for the marina were progressing, said Manager.

Natthapich and his delegation were welcomed by the provincial governor and the mayor of Pattaya who outlined what measures had been taken so far in a meeting at City Hall.

The aide was then taken on a tour that included the planned marina area and park that is due to open at year's end.

He asked the Thais to be good hosts and welcome visitors.

We've closed a few drinking establishments who were not paying their dues, and caught a few ladyboy bag snatchers.

Apart from that, it's business as usual ! :passifier:

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight . . .

Bars on soi 6 open in daytime.  Song Taos cruising Burakhow.  Same same all over again.

Hope he gets a soapy massage while on tour bringing his junket to a happy ending.

Clean up Pattaya and people will go their because ?

Looking at the picture I'm convinced they will go back with a clear vision of what every day's reality is..... no more  comment

Still has the same image, still attracting sex tourists, same global reputation.  Nothing has changed

Complete waste of time and public money. Bravo.

They are nothing if not thorough...

From the photo, it could have been Dodge City. Come to that ...

So, to get an assessment of a town's image, you ask the town's officials. Useful (NOT).

I wonder if he went down to the beach for a wade. :crying:

Who says it has a poor image?  I have no problem if it had a red light and sex image.  Nobody forces a tourist to go there (usually).  I pretty much found the place to be very hospitable with many ladies saying "welcome in" and telling me I am a "hansum man".   Having said that, since my first trip in 2004 and a dozen more there after I have become more and more glad I didn't invest there, as the immigration, coups, etc.  have made investing just not worth the risk.  And I have delayed my retirement a little bit.

But guess he has be warned to keep his flies buttoned  !!!!!!

Should have taken him down Soi Siam Country to see those Banana trees!

What doesn't seem to ever get across to people is that the image of Pattaya is used by the world to judge what they perceive the Thai people all are. This is wrong but the perception remains

Tell the Yo-yo to take a walk down Beach Road at 0200 hrs all alone with a gold necklace and and expensive phone (the Chinese like to do that).

Ask him to take a swim

Well I doubt the "Image" can go down any further, so expect an announcement about the improvement

A walk around Pattaya during the day to see any improvements on image issues?
