NCPO offers apology to media over Sansern’s request for cooperation

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has offered an apology to the media after government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd requested the media to report on the work of individual ministers during the mobile cabinet meeting in Nakhon Ratchasima on Aug 21-22.

The media see Lt Gen Sansern’s request as an interference of their work.

Col Winthai Suwaree, the NCPO spokesman, said the government spokesman had made the request with an honest intention to get the work of each ministry reported to the public because some of the media have not attached importance to all ministries.

The government spokesman Lt Gen Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd, also acting director-general of the Public Relations Department on Tuesday (Aug 15) detailed guidelines for media’s coverage of the mobile Cabinet meeting during Aug 21-22.

He invited representatives from TV stations to a meeting where he asked each station to provide scoops on each minister’s activities during the trip.

In other words stop reporting the truth ( if you still dare ) and report what I tell you or else.  Another military evil and arrogant character by the sounds of it. Public Relations chief ?  perhaps more near the mark if the L was left out !

Mind you the NCPO apologised and that is just a committee of cronies.  This little twerp should have apologised personally,  but then Thais can not lose face can they ?

not the job of the media; if some are not important, well, we dont want to hear about them

I'm quiet sure the media, especially the BP, try to report as much as they dare and that is probably only 5% of what they COULD report if there was freedom of the press but the press are as free here as an octopus who decides to leave the water for land.

sorry to hear that some ministries' feelings were hurt... especially when some ministries were considered to be unimportant, like the Ministry of Hot Air and the Ministry of Inactive Posts. I shall uplift you and dry your tears of inequity; you are all of exactly the same importance, every single one of you, and all the future ones that are still to be invented.

There, feeling better?  :heart_001:
