Yingluck’s life after the coup

You are misinformed and I respectfully suggest you let that piece of 'fake news' go.  Reduced tax was available for first time car buyers and many of my young (mostly) Thai friends benefited from their first cheap car.

I can see that your comment was not vexatious just misinformed. Anyway back 'on topic'  Yingluck's'  'life after' will be very quiet for awhile and, hopefully, no more Junta spies following her everywhere and her star will rise again. Let's see but it will take years to pan out.

Can you provide me a link to better information on the subject?  Thanks. To be clear, you are saying she did not benefit from the reduced tax scheme for the new cars?

Another poster who wants to claim any who don't lick the Shin's arse must be Junta supporters! What a convenient little mantra that is - means you don't have to think.

Now if you could read and research you'd see I criticize the Junta too. But as this post is about the Shins, and as usual attracts all their fanboys, then I post comments on topic about them.

Must all be a bit hard for you to grasp. Easier to just dismiss it all ad Junta huggers and pretend the Shins are innocent social democrats who never ever did anything wrong.

I am reminded of an old saying:

"Arguing with those holding fixed prejudices is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are the bird is going to sh!t on the board and strut around like it won anyway".

Yep. Time you made an attempt to broaden your mind and not be led by along.

DYOR this is the first I have ever heard of such an accusation so it is for YOU to provide evidence and links. I was being generous assuming you were just misinformed but you now appear to be more persistent so i await your evidence and I wonder why she has not been arrested for such a scheme.

Evidence, Links proving the PM personally benefited please.

I guess I could just say DYOR to you as well, but I agree that the burden is on me to support my positive claim.  My persistence is genuine curiosity, nothing more.  My sources on the subject are thin and I can find no information about it apart from rumors from friends, so you are probably right that I just had a misconception on the matter.

Plus corruption isn't always discovered quickly, perhaps never.

And maybe it didn't flow directly to her, but to a proxy.

And maybe she was/is just a very poor manager, was/is immoral, was/is totally naive and easily manipulated.

And it's possible, as with anybody, any corruption isn't uncovered for a long time.

And maybe she didn't receiver corruption money from the rice scam

Who knows for sure? Nobody at this point.

"Who knows, nobody can know, the truth is unknowable."  Classic authoritarianism technique to avoid scrutiny.  Those who speak truth are disappeared.

Given what is common knowledge to anyone living in Thailand, that the police openly take bribes and pass them up the chain, I would assume that there was corruption at all levels and what's happening is pure power struggles at the top, with people genuinely concerned about the Thai people having to work in a deeply flawed system.  The idea that anyone is seriously fighting this corruption is just not tenable for me as step one is admitting it exists, which would shame everyone involved.  But as you say, we cannot know because truth is not a high priority in politics.
