What has Thai society become? Thai media pose question as tearful child makes plea to absent dad online

Comment was rife on the direction of Thai society after a little girl went online to appeal to her father who has dumped the family.

The girl in school uniform made the video appeal to her absent dad as she read from a prepared script on a tablet.

She opens with: "Daddy why have you instructed the police to arrest mum?"

She then outlines the family's woes in tears - she would not have money for her education if her father presses charges against her mum.

She clutches a picture of her and her father in better days - and one of her dad at his previous wedding day.

She appeals to her father to keep her mother out of prison.

Tnews screamed in their headline that many people were saying Thai society had gone to the dogs.

You see it every day.  How many young, pretty Thai women do you see with a kid, but no man.  I personally know of 3.  For all 3 of them, within a week of telling the bf they were pregnant, he was no where to be found.  And how many men leave their wife and kids for some "younger model" on a daily basis here in Thailand.  My neighbor, about 45, who is a hell of a nice guy 95% of the time, booted out his wife of 10 years and moved a 21 year old in. Happens every day, all over the country.

Until Thai men are forced to pay maintenance to wives and kids left behind this will keep happening forever.

Also; 'Village Marriage', which is just a sham, needs doing away with and couples married properly and legally at the local Amphur.
