BANGKOK: -- Former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva thanked the court for dropping the criminal court case against him and his former deputy prime minister, Suthep Thaugsuban, over his government crackdown of red-shirt protesters in Bangkok in 2010.

Charged with premediated murder by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) led by Tarit Pengdith, the public prosecutor indicted Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep for their alleged heavy-handed handling of the red-shirt protests in 2010.

The Supreme Court on Thursday (Aug 31) upheld the lower courts’ ruling to drop the case with reason that the DSI had no authority to investigate and file charges against the two saying it was the jurisdiction of National Anti-Corruption Commission.

The court did not "give him justice".

The court gave him a free pass on a technicality.

if the courts gave him justice he would be serving a life sentence for what he did to the Rohingya during his tenure as PM!

The word ' Justice " is a very  malleable, and in Thailand it can

mean many things, and it can be bought and sold like a commodity,

justice for the rich, affluent and privileged, justice for high office holders,

justice for middle class and justice for poor and the have not, and the gap

can be as wide as the Grand Canyon...

Yet before he was cleared he pressed charges against DSI:

"On 9 June 2017, the Supreme Court accepted a lawsuit against Tharit Pengdit, former director-general of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and three other persons.
In 2012, the four pressed murder charges against Abhisit and Suthep for
authorising the 2010 crackdown.
Abhisit and Suthep retaliated by accusing the four of corruption and propagating false accusations against them, claiming that the DSI did not have the authority to investigate the crackdown in the first place.
The Supreme Court’s ruling contradicts previous verdicts from the Court of First Instance and the Appeal Court, who dismissed the charges against the DSI staff."https://prachatai.org/english/node/7351

Seems like a 'rub your noses in it' to a certain family.

It's all going swimmingly it seems, thank goodness for an independent judiciary, eh!
