Birth Certificate Authentification

Featured Replies

Anybody may suggest what best ?

i went to our consulate to register our son born in a Bangkok famous hospital, the consulate, asked me to have such document authenticated by Thailand MoFA and also translated in our own language, they gave us a list of different agencies, we chosen one and at the "modest" price of 4,700thb they will do everything.

now they telling us, that police (i dont understand why police is involved) wont authenticate the birth certificate because me i am not living in Thailand and the mother of the child is on a Medical visa expiring soon (that why we need to register the son to issue a passport for a way out of the country).

anyone with the legal knowledge how to handle it, its not for the money, its to get a official birth certificate authenticated by MoFA asap so we can move forward, as will be very difficult to translate a thai language certificate oversea.

any help appreciate

thank you

Not sure either why there would be any reason for the police to be involved in the legalization.

Basicly the birth certificate needs to be translated and then the translation certified by the department of consular affairs of the MFA. At the same time they would legalize the birth certificate.
