  1. Happy Tracking
  2. Following "CanadianSam" suggestion got the wife to order one of those GOMO sim cards for 99฿. which arrived within a couple of days. She went trough the registration process and got the new SIM activated , I think. This is where it gets a bit confusing. Took the old SIM out of the tracker and replaced it with the new COMO sim. The tracker worked, but still showing the phone number of the old card even though I had taken that card out and replaced it with the new COMO. Not sure what is happening. The tracker is working, presumably on the old phone number, did the new card take over the old number? Anyways will wait to see what happens after some days of working. A point the wife mentioned was how to top up the COMO card once the 99฿ initial cost runs out. She says there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to that. To answer another question. The SinoTrack ST-901-http://www.sinotrackpro.com/ - is a one off payment to purchase, there are no more payments for the unit. However for the tracker to work you need to insert a SIM card and that will cost depending on what provider you use. As mentioned in my original post, initially my SIM card top up was 50฿ per month, this crept up to 50฿ per 10 days, hence all this about finding a cheaper provider and GOMO seems almost too good to be true. but will wait and see. If you're interested in the visit the - http://www.sinotrackpro.com/ - web site for a free tour. 🙂

  4. For those interested:- I have this one, it only has 3 wire to fit. SinoTrack ST-901 I see they have a later model, with more wires, more suitable for a car. SinoTrack GPS Tracker St-906GL 🙂
  5. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. CanadaSam's suggestion of GOMO sim sounds promising, will get the wife to look into it Why track the shopping bike? I just wanted to find how this tracker thing worked. At the time I was the only one with driving license so obviously always knew where the car was. Had additional pedal lock and a couple of secret immobilizer switches so was not worried about the car being stolen, so the bike seemed the obvious choice for testing a tracker, It was not a question of tracing anyone especially, though it did come in handy a couple of times when I saw the wife parked at the store and I could call her to add something to the shopping list, also I would not call her while the bike was moving, did not want her to answer the phone until she parked up. One of my kids has now inherited the bike for school runs so the tracker is actually going to be useful She knows the bike is tracked, so no problem there. Cheers 🙂
  6. About two years ago I installed a ST109 tracker on the family shopping bike. The tracker works fine and gives location of the bike within a meter or so. The problem is with the SIM card payment. Initially 50฿ would be enough for a month without topping up. Recently the topping up time has become shorter till now the SIM will only work for just 10 days before needing to be topped up again. Anyone have the same model tracker experiencing the same? if so, did you find a way to fix the problem? and get back to the 50฿ per month. Thanks.
  7. BIG PAIN Don't believe those YouTube videos that show you only need a gentle tap with a hammer. The first one I did, there's a thread on here somewhere, I had to use blow torch to separate the strut from the under chair mechanism. That still didn't work so had to buy both strut and mechanism. Where the strut goes into the wheels is a bit easier to work on as you can really heat it up and bash the hell out of to come apart. Another one that I had previously put grease on the top and bottom slots came apart a bit easier but still a struggle. This last I replaced I wound a lot of that white plumber's tape round both ends before reassembly. Time will tell if that's a good idea. Crossy'S idea of using a length of metal pipe as a cheap fix works well. I used that for several months before getting round to replacing the strut.

  9. I have had TOT landline for many years. Originally the strung wires and more recently the fibre that comes with my computer. In all those years I have never actually made an overseas call, until just a few days ago only to get the message that this phone does not have permission for overseas number, or something like that. TOT said for ฿200 they would change the setting to allow overseas calls, it would take some time and would let me know when it's done. This blocking of overseas, is that the default setting on all landlines in Thailand, if so why? Anyone else have this blocking on their land line? Have you tried? Incidentally no problem with mobile phone so why only on landline.? Forgot to ask TOT if overseas incoming calls are also blocked. (Maybe some Nigerian prince has been trying to call)

  11. Yes, that's the one, according to IMDB its 2019 Strange! on another IMDB page it's listed as 2025 with a lower 6.7 rating Take your choice
  12. Interesting Drama/Documentary:- Last Breath 2019 (IMDB Rate 7.7) A deep sea diver is stranded on the seabed with 5 minutes of oxygen and no hope of rescue. With access to amazing archive this is the story of one man's impossible fight for survival. Not to be confused with The Last Breath 2024 About shark eating scuba divers
  13. At the time there was a lot of Exchange fluctuations and so different monthly amounts arriving in the bank did not raise any real concerns. No I did not win the lotto and at the time had sufficient funds not to have to rely completely on the pension.
