  1. Yes the e-visa application asks for intended arrival date and also for a flight number. But it doesn't actually ask for a copy of the ticket. However in my case I received a follow up e-mail asking for it, which of course wasn't a problem.
  2. They can travel to adjacent countries by land with a border pass but will not be able to fly to Vietnam without a passport. They can get a Thai passport easily and quickly so that would be their best plan.
  3. Assuming you are intending to apply in the US the requirements are very clear on the Embassy website. No travel tickets are mentioned. Note that it is always possible they might ask for it later during the application, they did for me in the UK, but I did have a ticket (why would you apply for the visa if not intending to travel?) Required documents to upload in the system (Large and clear JPEG or PDF format) to stay with Thai family residing in Thailand (more than 60 days): Passport Biodata Page or Travel Document (Must be valid within 6 months from travel date) Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months Document indicating current location (driving license, bank statement, or proof of stay) Recent bank statement showing the applicant's name and ending balance of no less than $15,000 or proof of monthly income of not less than $1,500/month) along with the current bank statement showing incoming income Personal details of a family in Thailand, e.g. valid Thai ID card or Thai Passport Proof of relationship to a family in Thailand (immediate family only), e.g. A copy of marriage certificate / birth certificate / certificate of adoption
  4. That's funny, if you can drag her from there to have a "date" in Jomtien I would think that's pretty liberated, otherwise desperate.
  5. I think this whole piece is about SAT-1, the AI writer got carried away with itself. SAT-1 is actually very visually appealing, far more so than the main airport. The Nation has a better version of this story.
  6. I also don't have a "bar" to scroll. Just a bunch of buttons to click.
  7. I would get yourself an e-visa. Your wife doesn't need one. Your embassy there details the requirements and has links for the genuine e-visa website. https://vn.usembassy.gov/vietnamese-visas-and-entry-exit/
  8. Why, tax fears? You are still liable irrespective of where you send it if it constitutes assessable income.
  9. CW will issue a certificate of residence if you have a valid TM30. They no longer insist on a 90 days report. If you are staying in her house then she is supposed to do one in any case every time you stay there. There seems no point in a fake lease.
  10. I didn't have any problem. The boss lady did have quite a chat with my ex to be 100% sure she was happy for our non-financial/clean break, but once that chat was over no problems.
  11. The non-O option mentioned is not a 6 month option. It will give you a single 90 day entry. You could extend that at immigration to visit your wife and get another 60 days. Alternatively a 60 day exempt entry can be extended by 30 days and then again by 60 to visit your wife. However you play it you're going to either have to leave the country and/or visit immigration at some point.
  12. The mother was more likely out looking for her cut.
  13. You don't really need to "gather" them, rather walk into your bank near the time and ask for a 12 month statement, which most will do on the spot (Bangkok Bank the notable exception). The bank will stamp and sign the pages and also provide the standard immigration letter.
  14. If the country you are applying in is in the e-visa system, i.e. Cambodia, you have no choice, but you still must be in that country when applying, It's e-visa only. You don't have to go to the consulate. Otherwise, as in the case of Laos you have to go in person, e-visa is not possible (yet).
  15. He now needs a 30 day extension. Easy, no agent needed. Then open a bank account, he will need to use an agent. In Pattaya its possible. Then dump 800k in it. Then apply for the non-O more than 15 days before the 30 day extension expires. He'll then get a 90 day stamp. Towards the end of that 90 days get an annual extension.
