Tucker Carlson Says He Will No Longer Back Republicans

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson says he no longer supports the Republican Party, citing what he described as a lack of loyalty to the United States among party leaders.

Break With the GOP

Get today's headlines by email image.png

Speaking on the "Can't Be Censored" podcast, Carlson said he would not support Republican candidates in future elections.

"I would not support the Republican Party, there's no chance," Carlson said. "Not because I support the Democratic Party. I don't know what I'm going to do."

Criticism of Party Leadership

Carlson argued that Americans should not support a political party they believe is not acting in the country's interests.

"It's not possible to vote for people like that and I'm not going to," he said.

The former Fox News host said he had voted Republican throughout his life and spent decades defending the party, but now believes its actions are indefensible.

"I've been a consistent defender for 35 years of the Republican Party, but there's no defending this because it's immoral," Carlson said.

Split With Trump Over Iran

Carlson's break with the party follows a growing rift with President Donald Trump over U.S. policy toward Iran. Once a prominent supporter of Trump, Carlson has sharply criticized the administration since the U.S. military campaign against Iran and its allied groups began earlier this year.

He has accused the administration of being influenced by Israel in its approach to the conflict and has repeatedly attacked Trump over the issue.

Future Political Support Unclear

Carlson said his opposition extends beyond the president and that he does not intend to vote for Republican candidates in upcoming elections.

While ruling out support for Republicans, he said he does not currently know what political path he will take instead.

Except the country he puts above is actually RUSSIA.

It sounds like he might be setting up himself for a third party run.

The GOP is morally and ethically bankrupt. They have sacrificed all standards in order to pay fealty to their new king. It is pretty embarrassing and quite an astonishing thing to witness.

During the 20 years that Clinton, Obama and Biden were president, as a Centrist Democrat I was constantly criticizing their policies. I see so little of that coming from Republicans these days much less MAGA.

And which country would that be?

IMO he'd choose the place where he likes the shopping carts. If he did this 40 years ago the right-wing fear factory would be livid with "stay there, you Commie b_stard!!"

At the end of the day it is an act of patriotism, his absence makes the US a better place. Wish he would elope with Jeanine Pirro.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's laying the groundwork to run for president in 2028.

Never understood the 'all one party' voting, when I did vote, but only local elections.

Now, since they are so far apart on some issues, it might make sense, if one party leans toward the 1 or 3 issues that apply to your life.

Dems are just looney left: DEI, transgender BS, socialist, open borders, no firearms

Reps are war mongers, (as are Dems), so same in that, along with both self serving corruption.

Reps ... the few positives

... keep more what you earn

... less regulation

... protected borders

... 2nd Amendment

Tucker Carlson's net worth is estimated to be between $30 million and $150 million. That says alot.

Not sure if he was bought by Qatar, Russia, Dems, or just went full on lunatic - but the guy is clearly out to hurt Republicans at the Midterms. Wouldn't be surprised if it's either the Muslim or Dem agenda behind this. Sadly larger and larger portions of the Democratic party are being hijacked by Progressives and Muslims who both hate America. Hope they do not get their way.

I've never thought of Carlson as being conservative despite being told repeatedly that he is. Now I know that I was spot on.

Cut the chase Tucker. Call out Trump.

He is the biggest influence to the party and he is not putting America’s interests first. The rest of the party are lemmings mindlessly follow Trump. If Tucker has the gumption, speak out against the electoral college which is outdated and a threat to democracy.

He does not. Like most Fox and ex fox hosts he puts money before both country and party.

You are the embodiment of unserious Democrats, constantly sharing laughable memes. However, we must recognize that the US federal budget is excessively large and requires significant trimming. Democrats are focused on expanding social programs without considering their fiscal impacts. The largest issue facing the country is the aging population and the rising costs which will be passed onto the younger generation.

And yet Trump continues to raise federal spending and is attempting to ruin the American Financial system with his unnecessary and ridiculous tax cuts to his corporate cronies.

Most federal spending is mandatory and operates on autopilot. This includes:

Social Security

Medicare

Medicaid

Veterans' benefits

Federal retirement programs

Income support programs

Interest on the debt

These programs account for 74% of the federal budget. If you're interested in reading up on something scary, check out reports on future projects related to the growth of Social Security and Medicare. Then come back to me and tell me how the Democrats are serious people.

As I said, these budget issues will be a burden on the younger generation.

I would hope the MAGA wingdings wouldn't fall for yet another rich guy who aspires to authoritarian leadership, but I wouldn't bet on it.

On the other hand if he did win the WH he just might give the guy with the orange makeup the iron heel treatment -- in authoritarian practice there is only room for one Great Leader. Even dead ones are a threat: Stalin tried to erase dead Lenin, for example.

Tucker would redo his "spanking rant" redirected at the guy with the comb-over.
