The Pathum Thani Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office reported a bus fire incident that occurred around 09:15 on October 22, on the Pathum Thani-Lad Lum Kaew Road. The fire broke out at a bus stop in front of Pathum Thani Hospital, located in Bang Prok sub-district, Mueang district.

According to officials, the bus, which had departed from the Nopphong Garage, was carrying approximately 15 passengers when it reached the hospital. Passengers began to disembark when flames erupted in the engine compartment.

The bus driver quickly used the onboard dry powder, fire extinguisher to bring the fire under control. It was noted that the bus was equipped with six CNG gas tanks and although the driver’s identity remains unconfirmed, his swift actions prevented any escalation of the incident.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported in this incident. The fire was successfully extinguished, and the situation was brought under control before the fire service reached the bus.

The incident is under investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, which was reported to have originated in the engine area of the bus.

I wonder what would have happened if the driver of the coach with the school kids on had done the same...
