What movies or TV shows are you watching now?

I somehow missed this when it was first shown, but I'm catching up before the second season starts in April.

SyFy series; 12 Monkeys. re-imagined show based on the Bruce Willis movie.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3148266/?ref_=nv_sr_1

How is it?

I watched the first episode then forgot about the show

Up to ep4, and so far I'm liking it, then again I'm a scifi nutjob

Couple of Movies currently showing in Thailand cinemas, which i caught at the cinema

Deadpool. Mentioned here already. Marvel hero action movie with a banter style lead character super hero. Enjoyable enough. 6/10

Zoolander 2. Saw this one today for cheap Tuesday. Movie Opera Seats at Major cinema - 120 baht. Popcorn 150 baht blink.png. A mixture of inane stupidity with an occasional laugh. I thought the slapstick would have gone down better with the Thai crowd, but not so much today. There is a heap of guest appearance here from well known actors and fashion industry figures. Lots of corny spoof play referencing other movie and TV shows.

I was tempted to leave early to get my Sizzler salad bar fix, but i felt compelled to stay till the end and finish every last piece of that 150 baht popcorn. 3/10

Upcoming.

London Has Fallen

A kind of sequel to Olympus has fallen. Over the top action movie where terrorists attack the worlds leader and US President and one man saves the day. I like this type of movie and Ill be there next week to see it.

...After the death of the British prime minister, the world's most powerful leaders gather in London to pay their respects. Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves the city in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) springs into action to bring U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) to safety. When Asher falls into the hands of the sinister organization, it's up to Banning to save his commander in chief from a horrible fate...

I love a good Western, unfortunately "Forsaken" with both Donald and Kiefer Sutherland, and a cameo by Demi Moore, doesn't quite make the grade. Pretty much a paint by numbers plot and lack lustre performances from the actors.

Not surprised….one needs a pretty good understanding of english to get some of derek's stupid jokes…the slapstick part is only how he squishes his lips for the camera.

I am actually going to watch the first Zoolander again, it's been a while!! And i did enjoy it at the time. And am looking forward to the second one.

One film i watched on TV here the other night was the first Hangover. I did actually laugh and saw funny things happening that i may have missed the two times i have seen it before. Especially The Dan Band singing Candyshop at the end!!

And how could i have forgotten Mike Tyson's tiger?!!

In French they call it "a very bad trip" (in English). I love asking my French speaking friends to say it. A veyree baad treeep!!

Don't worry, they get me to sing in French sometimes...

Just finished watching war and peace , this is what the BBC was made for , It is like it had gone back to when it was THE BRILLIANT BROADCASTING SERVICE, such a shame most of the time it is so left wing that it is usually the bullsh-t broadcasting service .

Alrighty, I'll fess up..I knew Lucifer wasn't a work of art, high drama, but really...just watched the latest episode, Sweet Kicks, and I think I'm done. The pretty pretty people thingy only carries me for a while, then reality of the nonsense sets in...I'm there.

Oh well it was fun while it lasted!

You persevered longer than me, I couldn't make it through the first episode.

However, the latest episode of Criminal Minds has redeemed my faith in crime based TV...

OMG what has happened to Derek?????

The last 2 series seem to have lost it's way. Is there a new one out?

I'm talking about the latest episode; season 11 episode 15, 'A Badge & A Gun'

Limitless is still keeping my attention, just! I think they have no new ideas really!

Limitless is akin to my interest in Lucifer...I was OK the fist couple of episodes then the pretty pretty people with the absence of any real story lost it for me

Two reasons I don't watch this show, Matthew Gray Gubler and Thomas Gibson. The fat chick rubs me the wrong way as well.

The lady in the van ,just downloaded on PB . been looking forward to this , about the old lady who lived in a van on Alan Bennets drive for years .

Thanks for the heads up, also been lookign forward to this one

Just listened to Maggie Smith being interviewed on WHYY's Fresh Air. While I love her as an actress, can't say the premise of the movie fills me with a burning desire to watch it.

She was clearly on a promotional tour to plug the movie, but heck it seemed a tough sell

" The Room"......is also available from to-day. Has rave write ups.......but 2 hours of watching about 2 people (mother -son) locked in a room for 5 years, doesn't make me rush to the torrent sites....has a 8.3 at the moment, & a warning from one reviewer......

**Warning** If you have trouble viewing emotionally charged material of a sensitive nature about abuse. You would be well advised not to view this film.

OK that lets me off the hook----I still get upset thinking about Bambi ........................coffee1.gif

Actually it's not that hard too watch. It is slow paced and kind of boring, but you do get sucked into it. Probably due to the great acting. The kid actor should have been given at least an Oscar nomination for his acting.

PS. Once you see it, please tell me im not the only one who thinks maggie smith looks like michael caine in it.

Gods of Egypt is on at cinemas in Thailand

'The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, a defiant mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) forms an unlikely alliance with the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.'

Very good CGI, not much storyline, not much to remember about the entire experience really.. i drifted off into mindless thought..

On the popcorn front SF Cinemas charge 110 Baht for a large popcorn, compared to Major charging 150baht for the large. I generally prefer Major cinemas but the chairs at SF this time were comfy, with a little bit more leg room than Major and the seat has marginally more reclining depth

"Room" is excellent. One of the best performances from a child actor that I've ever seen. I found the whole movie totally engrossing.

Best not to watch Gods of Egypt then. The main cast is all white with one black actor. All would stand out like a sore thumb in ancient Egypt!
