Jai Dee Dental clinic in Nathon is great. They are right around the corner from the Honda motorbike dealer, where the two one way roads meet. Fair prices, with a rate card on the front desk in Thai and English (same prices both) and very good work. The dentist was a former dental surgeon at a hospital in BKK, can do everything there in-house and his mother in law owns the building, so he pays no rent (therefore good rates). I have had cleanings, a filling replaced, 2 root canals, and now he is making a new steel post and 2 new crowns for me, and its all top quality work at prices about 1/10th or less than what I would pay in Canada. call them at 077 420 355

Another vote for Jai Dee. I hate dentists but this guy is great. Very. very modern equipment. No need for injections. He makes you feel relaxed and really cares. I have no problem with visiting him every 3 months for a check up now. Not bad for someone who has not been near a dentist for 4 years!!!

sumui international has always been good no problems after wards ,also did a whitning job there very happy .dentist are a bit like barbers when you find one you like why change

Can someone please help me. We need a good dentist. We did go to Bangkok Hospital today and the dentist said I need 15 fillings!!!! I have also visited the dentist every 6 months and only have 2 fillings to date, so it seems very starnge that my teeth can be so bad in such a short time of living in Samui. I won't be re-visiting!

She left some time ago and they always now have new dentists - have not had the same one on the last three visits, the last time only three weeks ago.

There has been many threads on dentists here.The disturbing fact is , they are becoming like Optical shops,Pharmacies,tailors & 711's.Most are run by the same principals & use different resident dentists, with the more intricate work done by Bangkok sourced denrists here on visits once or twice a month.

I use JD in Nathon, find him down to earth & fair.Sometimes he doesn't even charge me if he thinks just some pills will fix the problem.

I've been using Dr T in Maenam for going on five years. I agree with one of the other posts, in that he is an excellent dentist. However, i think he has become very expensive.

Prices would be very hard as they all differ from dentist to dentist.Again depending on X-rays,cleaning, drilling out ,yuks getting goose pimples already .

A clean at Jai Dee's varies 600 to 1,000 if I remember.Others ,well I got quoted anything from 1,000 to 1,500.Deep clean( under gum ) I had it done at another dentist 3,000 Bht a 1/4, only got one done.Didn't really need it & the aggro of 6 jabs of the needle.

I have used this dentist several times now, he's very good... Directly opposite the "75 Store"... Seems to have a good following of Thai's & Farangs

He also has an office in Nanthon... not sure where.

is this the most asked question on this furum or would it be the driving licence one.i have used several dentists and most times when you go back to the like of ban luck fun you end up with a differnt dentist, every dentist i have used has tried to convince me i need loads of crowns etc so be prepared to talked into treatment you do not need. they are open to negotiation try a few and ask how much prices vary dramatically.

Well, all I can say is, Dr T has done some excellent work for me and better than my previous dentists in Canada at far less cost... and he's always here... not in BKK... One of the girls always phone to make sure that everything is OK too... nice touch!

He actually has a brother in BKK with a clinic for speciality work too. (The Clinic has the same name, if you want to look up the Webpage).

Cheap is not always good, I tried that when I lived on KP!

Over the years I have had root canal with crowns done by Jai Dee in Nathon, Dr. Supaporn and the clinic near Chaweng post office. They all cracked or fell out resulting in having an expert and final job done at Bangkok Samui Hospital. Evidently all the crowns were composite material, are cheap and DONT last. Like everything, you only get what you pay for.
