I must admit... even though I wouldn't be anywhere else right now... I do miss certain things about my homeland (Orstralia) like 1. Avocados 2. Good wine at a reasonable price 3. Bad jokes :o

Anybody else missing anything in life???

There's plenty of advocados here.

Where is here? :o I understand avocados grow up north but very rarely get them in Phuket. I just find that they are very nutritious for me, like my body actually needs to eat them. Any ideas on where to get a regular supply?

I miss the people back home who don't ask me what I miss from back home when I'm living in Thailand.  :D

:D

:o hahaha thanks for that Gazza. That's number 3 off my list. So do happen to know where I can get some avocados?? :D

Anyway, yes plenty up here in the north during the season.

Only family really.

I don't miss anything else too much.

At least one person mentioned something other than consumable comforts :o

Me? I miss rollerblading in lord Stanley's park on a summers day (anyone seeing the beautiful women in Vancouver esp in the summer might agree;) or skiing huge bumps at Whistler in the spring, whilst derailing those annoying "fashionista" snowboarders right over a cliff :D

AND my family... :D :D

Can agree with all of the above- especially Stanley park on a sunny day. Unfortunately, the traffic in the park on a sunny day would make me homesick for BKK! :D

Posted

english marmite (some members say you can get it here, but I've never seen it)

crumbly cheeses like cheshire, wensleydale, caerphilly etc

monster munch

walkers salt and vinegar

cod and chips

going to Elland Road

sunday newspapers

real ale

irony

but, on the whole, none of this is enough to consider making me want to live there again.

The veggie lady on the road between Mimmi's restaurant and Naiharn Beach has some lovely avocadoes. Big and very rich!! Try there.

I may have this the wrong way round, but then I am on the other side of the globe...

I miss my twice weekly trips to the Jungle Bar on the Soi just off river Kwae road. H would cook me up a steak and kidney pie, or mince meat sometimes, that he bought over in Hua Hin, and we´d sit and chat for hours.

Those pies were brilliant.

Actually, shortly before I left, I heard that the original Pie makers were selling their business to someone else... This is a bout a year and a half ago. ANybody know somehting?
