hello all.....

posted a few times latley..so sorry if its getting boring!... but if i could clear these points up,....

2 things really, we are going to send the application off next week for the mrs uk `setlement visa`... we are now married as of the 1st of feb 2006, been together just under a year

i think we have done all we can on the proof of relationship stuff... emails/sms/photos/hotel reciepts/flighs weve had together samui etc/.....

got a leter from mum and dad to say we can stay at theirs until i rent a place..(im living in bkk at the mo) its a large 3 bedroom family house

i sold my house in 2004 and still have a large chunk of money in my bank £50k +

ive just got two doubts/ questions.....

we got turned down for a study visa last november..... fair enough!

we didnt provide enough evidence/and the course she enrolled in was just a general english course, that the fco said she could of done here (her english is very good anyway +she has a degree in business admin from the university here in bkk), but I thought it would give her some experience of the UK.....

so i can understand that rejection.... BUT will it have any bearing on our new settlement application???

and my main question is..... I am thinking of staying out here with the mrs, until her interview, as i dont really want to fly back home, start to make plans....and then if she doesnt get it, have to fly back out again!!

BUT as im out here i have no job in the uk....

so my dillema is..... if i thought it would help the application i can go back to the uk, get a job with an employment agency in around a week..... start earning money, and then send her proof of this...

would it help the application???? or would the fact that i have a fair amount of money in the bank, and im living out here at the mo` be enough without a job????????????????

babbled on a bit, but wanted to make my situation clear...

any help/advice really appreciated.............cheers

The previous student visa should not be a problem, as long as you can show that your relationship is genuine and the sv application is not another ploy to get her into the UK. I assume you can do that.

£50K in the bank should be ample, especially as you will be living with your parents at first and so have minimal expenses. However, it may be a good idea to show that you are taking steps to find work once you are in the UK. There are many online employment agencies in the UK, so maybe print out a few job applications.

cheers for the comments....

its ok to pay the 6,375B fee in cash with the application, yes??

the visa section on the embassy website, makes it sound as if payment HAS to be with a cashiers cheque? ..... left me slightly confused!... its getting late, think i should call it a day!! :o

For a settlement visa the fee is £260, so depending upon the exchange rate the embassy currently uses, it will be c. 19500 baht. It will have to be a cashier's cheque, too, although other posters have indicated that it's not onerous to get one.

Cheers,

Scouse.
