Jai Dee Posted January 19, 2007 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Thailand awarded the most popular tourist destination by a Norwegian magazine Thailand has been recognized as the most popular tourist destination by “The Norwegian Grand Travel Awards 2007” arranged by Norwegian magazine “Travel News”. This is the fourth consecutive year Thailand has received the award. At the same time, Thai Airways International (THAI) has been voted the popular international airline. Receiving the prizes on behalf of Thailand and the company were Mrs. Jitriya Pinthong (จิตริยา ปิ่นทอง), Thai Ambassador to Oslo, Mr. Manit Boonchim (มานิตย์ บุญฉิม), the director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) office in Stockholm, and Hilde Hirai, the manage of THAI office in Oslo. In addition, the January 7, 2007 issue of the Chicago Tribune has listed Thailand in the top-ten chart of destinations with most value for money. We keep picking up these awards and it can only be good for all our businesses and the country as a whole.Its only a few long time expats that hate Thailand and do it down at every opportunity. And yet my friends in the travel industry to a person state business is down, international news is not silent on Thailand as an investment choice and the big rating companies are about to downgrade Thailands credit ratings. I somehow don't think you've focused on the whole picture. This doesn't mean Thailand is doomed. But thinking everything is wonderful is about as useful as thinking everything is horrible.
