<Whinge>Other people, who will remain unnamed by me, get into Bedlam after a few mere months on TV by dint of being loudmouths and posting a lot.

Me, I'm not the massive poster, so it took me three and a half years to reach enough posts to be admitted. Wasn't there some way you could have let me in sooner, based on my length of active membership on TV and not just number of posts?</whinge>

And after she gave you such a warm welcome. :o:D

Ah, but I wasn't insinuating you let them in too soon, I was complaining about being excluded for too long. There's a big difference. Seriously, it wasn't possible to let me in, oh, 18 months ago after 2 full years of being on TV regularly?

I sympathize thith cathyy as being admitted to bedlam was probably the happiest and proudest day of my adult life and think more people should be able to experience this in their lifetimes. However, if the standards are lowered, would it then be such a high honor to be a member?

And after she gave you such a warm welcome. :o:D

Well, comparing Bedlam to Walmart is difficult. :D

See how you do it Cathyy......

I think Cathy is getting nervous. Its ok, CV, Nurse Ratched has lots of meds. Pick a colour.

Welcome to Bedlam, it probably wasn't worth waiting for. :D

I don't think the clockwork was either. :o

Really you could have just asked a mod or admin Cathyy, thats how I got in when I had 2-300 posts or something. Before Bedlam was much more selective. :o

ok, who is skulking around bedlam as anonymous users ? :D

sneaky anonymous members... :o

reveal thyself !

Ya, and bigger stick, too. :o

Where's Cathy?

coming back to topic,

I think bedlam admission should not be based on quantity or time, but on quality. Members can rate posts they deem high quality, and after a consistent pattern of posting quality based on this type of peer review, they can be admitted.

I did mention this a couple of months back - maybe there chould be another review of long-term members as there are people that aren't prolific posters who have been on board for a long time. I cited Loaded as an example of this.

You can't have it like that, it would end up being unfair, some posters either don't stand out because they don't post much of have opinions that might be right but against majority opinions so they would be discarded. To be 'popular' enough to get into Bedlam isn't right.

I think at least an automatic entry to Bedlam after 1 year should be fair though, despite the number of posts you have made.

OK, this is me.

I just logged out and reentered. What did I do before?

miss innocent! :o

Bedlam needs the loudmouth, it's the only way to keep it going. :o
