Jack’s Golf Penang Service

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used the new Jack golf service to get a single entry tourist visa from Panang?

http://www.jackgolf.com/en/news/143.php

I called this number and they said I could get a single entry tourist visa in Penang for 10K baht. I'm wondering if anyone has done this yet and whether you get the warning stamp using this service. I have read many posts saying that this service is illegal but I don't believe it. Jacks has been a reputable business in thailand for 10 years so I know I can trust them. why would they risk their huge profitable business empire to make a few baht on this service? that just makes no sense so I disregard paranoid fear mongering posters

It is not clear whether you will go to Penang, or just your passport.

If the latter, then I agree it is illegal, and you can land yourself in all kinds of trouble that you probably do not need.

It wouldn't be the first time one of these gov't agencies was engaged in duplicitous activitites

so someone could pad their retirement fund. If caught-out, guaranteed, the tourist will be

the only one serving time. The two-faced nature of it all is really quite sickening. :o

This is absolutely absurd that the not-so-many-years ago passport mailing scams have resurfaced.

How many people were ruined the last time this house of cards came tumbling down?

As previously stated, Jack Golf must be going through some tough economic hardships with the closure of their Savannakhet money-making bonanza.

That they are willing to go to these extreme illegal measures versus their prior legal status as a visa run provider is testament they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel to tweak a few more baht.

As an update to the previous scam, the 10,000 baht fee charged now for a 60-day-single-entry tourist visa whereas previous scammers gave a one-year-multiple-entry non-O for 12K is akin to driving up the price of drugs during the War on Drugs... eg. desperate measures during desperate times equals huge jump in price.

and just to answer the OP's question... for the 10,000 baht fee I certainly would HOPE they don't red stamp your passport.

It might look a bit suspicious if you use Jack Golf's service three times, for example.. and you have "Last Time For Visa In Penang" stamped on three consecutive visas in your passport... particularly if you actually do go to try and leave the country through another portal at some time.

so if in fact this is what Jacks golf does, sending passports out of the country for visas, and it is in fact illegal, why on earth would they risk the consequences as I assume they would be breaking the law if the client is.

This is illegal and Jack's must be very desperate.

It really is a bit strange that they are going down the illegal route to get business.

Personally if I was in a position where I had to do a Visa run they would be the last on my list.

Whatever, they are now tainted.

I remember that they did this a few years ago but I was really surprised to hear that they have resumed this questionable service.

Using web.archive.org and jack total golf´s url, this is what I found:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.jackgolf.com

The first hit of 2003:

http://web.archive.org/web/20030501033555/...visaService.asp

Do you need to extend your passport to stay more in Thailand?

Are you worry about going outside Thailand to get only a stamp in your passport?

Now, We care about your passport.

You can extend easily in a day via "Daily Cambodia Visa Tour".

If you don't have time, just bring to us to get a Malaysia Visa.

The second hit of 2003:

http://web.archive.org/web/20030515063932/.../other_visa.asp

Malyasia Visa

If you don't have a time to go to Cambodia, here is another way to extend your passport.

Just bring your passport to us.

After 4 day, you've got a 100% legal stamp in your passport.

Hurry up to watch these pages, since I don´t know if one is able (Jack Golf, that is) to request that they should be removed.

Regards,

Bertil

Cali 4995 wrote "I called Jack's this morning and in fact that is the deal. 4 week turnaround, not

necessary to leave the country. I must say, the Thai girl suggested it was

"probably better if I went myself". I would have to agree with her there :o

Well at least she was honest :D

  • 2 weeks later...

In light of the big thread:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...=166996&st=

Penang To Impose Stricter Rules When Issuing Tourist Visas, PENANG: STRICTER TOURIST VISA RULES FROM FEB 1, 2008

Is Jack still offering to do this scheme?

also, is that thread at least partially a result of this and similar threads?
