Hi

I would love to bring my thai G/F over to Ireland for 2 weeks, does anyone know what kind of visa is required for this, also I've heard there are quite a few requirements such as bank statements and such which need to be posted to the consulate, also i've heard that I need to leave 30, 000 baht in the ladies account for security purposes, this sounds a little extreme to me, can anyone provide me with accurate information? I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before I tried to do a search but I didnt find what I was looking for, any help is greatly appreciated,

Many Thanks,

RG

Hi Mr R.,

Sorry, my knowledge of Irish immigration matters is non-existent but there are a couple of Irish members who've been through the process and I'm sure they can give you some tips. In the meantime, there's a pinned link at the top of this forum and within it is a further link to the Irish consulate site.

Best of luck,

Scouse.

Hi RG

I think it will require a lot more the 30,000 in your GFs account for her to get a visa for Ireland!

The Dept of immigration are very "down" on Thais at the moment

Have a look at the post below:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29020&hl=

This link give the latest Visa guielines from the Dept of Justice:

http://www.justice.ie/80256E01003A21A5/vWeb/pcJUSQ65WHUV-en

This one tells you the visa requirements:

http://www.justice.ie/80256E01003A21A5/vWe...itionalDocs.pdf

There are quite a lot of criteria which muct be fulfilled

And even if these criteria are fulfilled there is no guarantee that the visa will be given as it is all up to the "judgement" of the visa officer and no personal interviews are conducted nor is any personal intervention by the sponsor allowed...

Good luck!
