Cases where it was 50,000 Baht, other cases it was much higher before the individual was arrested and taken to the station.

If it goes to court, Any alien who engages in work without a Work Permit, or in violation of the conditions of his work as stipulated in his Permit, may be punished by a term of imprisonment not exceeding three months or a fine of up to 5,000 baht, or both. As well they will be deported and may be blacklisted to renter Thailand for 99 years.

Don't take the risk..it's dangerous once you are caught up. And if you did then you will just have to pay for the fine and be deported!
