    Hopeful the midterm elections swing both houses but that will be too late….Vance has no chance in 2028….won’t even be on the ticket….recession will slow growth to a trickle….the number to watch will be the unemployment rate…. best strategy for US trading partners is to boycott US products and sell to China and Asia

    Taxing SS reduces the life of the SS fund by many years…very bad news for the future recipients of SS checks which might include you also it threatens the protection of the the double taxation treaty with thailand so you want to pay taxes to thailand at a nuch higher rate?

    There was only 66 baht in the donation box…. what is the true story here? Is it a distraction from the 36% tariff soon to hit thai exports to usa? Thai gov will lose tax revenue from reduced sales….maybe Thailand will now double the tax rate on overseas income coming into Thailand?

    This story is nothing but another taxi driver finds a wallet and returns it….a PR story due to build up a fragile self image pros and cons to both countries….she just increased her chances of dying in a traffic accident exponentially especially on a Thai island

    Very poor job of looking out for her by her Finnish friends…or is this the case that she was traveling alone and just met up with a group of acquaintances who only have their own self interests in mind…which is actually the case with solo independent travelers… in my day of solo traveling the world in my 20’s and 30’s, common sense and looking out for others were prevalent at hostels etc maybe today’s generation lacks those traits?

    Deep resentment of foreigners and always looking for a trigger to set them off… more though a reflection of being half nots in their own society but the Thai culture for the most part suppresses them acting out their feelings/bitterness

    There is nothing in this thread attacking Thais or Thai culture that calls for this reaction….if you feel that strongly about your observations, why do you waste your time reading comments or start a new thread to air your grievances At 40 years living here plus years prior, you make sound like most of your life is now in your rear view mirror

    The only date that matters to me is my visa expiration date in Dec and when I apply for an extension and nothing is said about showing tax receipts then I am good for another year
