  1. @Scouse123 you wrote, no need for immigration visits. Does that also mean 90 day reporting or do you do them online?
  2. German he was not Dutch https://thethaiger.com/news/national/german-beggar-faces-deportation-charitypaid-partying-pattaya
  3. yep, a Thai friend of ours gave him 20 THB and he got angry saying that is not enough
  4. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 89 seconds
  5. that is sensible advise. Thanks for this. i am released from hospital and went to look at the ones my wife’s daughter looked at and bought on of those as I could not wait any longer. It’s a bit too short, but I can live with that for now, as I can’t walk that far. Hopefully I am going home soon and will have my Bil’s son weld on something. But it must be made removable as we intend, when I don’t need it anymore, to give it to a person in our village who needs it more. thx for the tip, appreciated
  6. Guys, need your help, had lung surgery where they cut away half of my left lung and because of that i have difficulty walking because running out of breath. now the phsyio in the hospital has advised me to buy a walker (see attached pic). My wife’s daughter went already to several stores including Fascino and she only found ones that are quiet small, in height wise. Max height she found was 90cm. And according to the physio i need something that is 1,10m in height minimum. any ideas where to look for such a walker. ps : we looked at lazada and they all will only be delivered somewhere next week and i need it rather urgently tia
  7. A safer bet, if you require faster wise transfers, is Kasikorn bank as that is still the partner bank with Wise. Transfers to there with wise arrives in minutes (more often seconds)
  8. Just an update to this as i am still in Pattaya, with hopefully my final operation happening next week, I thought let’s go to the bank here and have them transfer half of the fixed deposit amount to a local bank account *which I still have*. I went to their main branch and was told by the manager that this only can be done in my home branch in Buriram. So if anyone has a fixed deposit account with Bangkok Bank, please do know that you only can withdraw money from that account in your home branch/ home province where you opened the account and NOT in another province.
  9. As usual the good suffer because of the bad and this is a perfect example of IO tightening the rules because lots of people are abusing the system, but if you are legit you don't have to worry about it, just some extra hassle (and some extra trips to the IO office )
  10. Naphcon-A Not available in all pharmacies. recommendation from my eye doc is not to use it more then 3 days in a row. But maybe that was in my case
  11. Absolutely, my SIM card is in my own name since approx 1 year now. So no that is not into play. And another thing, that account sending was to my wife's account and not my own. But I can tell you It happened again, but now with my own SCB account, but this time it took 3 weeks for the rejection message to appear. And also that account info is/was accurate
  12. Nope, only persons without a Long Stay visa, will have the chance that their accounts are at risk that their accounts will be blocked. So it will be a lot harder / impossible for a tourist on a mere Tourist visa to be able to open a bank account or maintain it.
  13. I last year got a new passport at my Countries Embassy in Bangkok and went to Immigration to get the stamps transferred. I asked them about the Tm30 as well, they only asked if I live at the same address, which I acknowledged and they said no need. And they added only when you go abroad and come back you have to do a new Tm30. As always TiT and YMMV Ps: This was Buriram Immigration
  14. That is not 100% accurate. I was in hospital for a long time and one day a woman, I have no idea about the department she worked for in the hospital, came up to my hospital bed and said, "we see you are on a long stay visa" , she even told me the exact expiry date, and asked if I would a document from the hospital regarding the 90 day reporting. But because I was being discharged the following day, I said no worries and will do it myself as I was still in the allowed 7 days grace period. So yes they check. But YMMV Edit: Forgot to add, On admission day, they took a copy of my passport which I had to sign
  15. @KhunBENQ Bank was SCB, and the account is absolutely alive. I regularly transfer money in and out of it of that account, also my phone details (SIM Card is in my own name) and address etc are up to date. I had the same problem with my wife's KSK account and after I retried the transfer it went through, but the "account info not correct" msg from wise in that case came on the same day and not after 3 weeks as with this SCB transfer. I have cancelled the transfer and will leave the SCB account dormant and use my BBL and KSK accounts instead, those transfers, via Wise, arrive with NO issues.
  16. Update: I received this email from Wise last night. I have checked and the account details are absolutely correct, so I have cancelled the transfer. Please note, I initiated this transfer on the 19th of May, it was supposed to arrive in my account on the 21st.
  17. Perfect. That window is open now if i am correct. oke make it January (i actually did the extension early in December), so 3 months would be mid april, and I have time till September (to play it utterly safe). i will do it when I get home late June, I am still in Pattaya undergoing treatment and waiting for the final surgery. thx again guys, really appreciated
  18. spot on as usual @DrJack54 i can withdraw the money even when I am on my death bed and transfer it to my wife’s account. I have a will in place and before my wife can access that 800k, will be weeks or even months as it has to go through the court system I believe. the transfer from fixed to savings is just a precaution, i am not that worried about the loss of interest
  19. Thx Guys. so what you are saying is transfer first 400k into the savings account and then for example a week later transfer the rest over? Or do you mean an additional 400k. i did my extension in December so I am good on the balance right? 3 months after the extension and 2 months before the 800k must be in the account and the rest of the time it must not dip below 400k. Correct?
  20. As i have had a couple of health scares i wish to move the money I use for my retirement extension (800K+) from a Fixed Deposit account to a savings account so in case something happens my wife can easily withdraw the money, which with a Fixed Deposit is not possible. my extension is due in January 2026, so what would be the best way to change, so that it is acceptable for IO FYI: Immigration is Buriram TiA
  21. Afaik, they are doing that already since a long time. i have a message like that “how did we do” in my inbox at Wise going back several months
  22. just an update, Wise is still looking into it and the money, 10.000 Thb still hasn’t landed in my account
  23. I will post an update in the topic I linked above when I get news from Wise
  24. https://aseannow.com/topic/1361420-wise-transfer-lost/ have a look here, you are not the only one
  25. nope not yet, it’s under investigation with wise and they get back to me in approximately 5 days as said in their email
