Absolutely. Here you will most certainly run very fast into ISP throttling and if that is not happening you will being put behind CGNAT so you can't share anything back.

My PC was turned off for 2 months *in and out of hospital* but reading all about the issues with the updates and that MS is even putting in "Nagware" to "force" you to get ESU. So my first thing when I got home was, disabled Windows Update and installed 0Patch. I am now on their 30 day trial.

ESU for consumers by MS is what I understand only for 1 year so in Oct 2026 you would be looking for another solution again. Edit: Found it https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-consumer-extended-security-updates-esu-program-33e17de9-36b3-43bb-874d-6c53d2e4bf42

The Cut off date by MS for Window 10 is 14 October 2025, so after that date NO more updates. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-support-ends-on-october-14-2025-2ca8b313-1946-43d3-b55c-2b95b107f281 An alternative is 0Patch, that is Eur 25 +/- per year but that will support Windows 10 for many more years, they even still support Windows 7 https://0patch.com/ Ps: Not affiliated

There are ways around all those requirements but they will only work until MS decides to enforce all the requirements What MS is thinking no one knows. They even said that Windows 10 is the last version ever, and now there is even "rumors" about Windows 12. IMHO Microsoft is the best marketing company for alternate Operating Systems. I am seriously considering to switch to MAC OS.

@Scouse123 you wrote, no need for immigration visits. Does that also mean 90 day reporting or do you do them online? -

that is sensible advise. Thanks for this. i am released from hospital and went to look at the ones my wife’s daughter looked at and bought on of those as I could not wait any longer. It’s a bit too short, but I can live with that for now, as I can’t walk that far. Hopefully I am going home soon and will have my Bil’s son weld on something. But it must be made removable as we intend, when I don’t need it anymore, to give it to a person in our village who needs it more. thx for the tip, appreciated

Guys, need your help, had lung surgery where they cut away half of my left lung and because of that i have difficulty walking because running out of breath. now the phsyio in the hospital has advised me to buy a walker (see attached pic). My wife’s daughter went already to several stores including Fascino and she only found ones that are quiet small, in height wise. Max height she found was 90cm. And according to the physio i need something that is 1,10m in height minimum. any ideas where to look for such a walker. ps : we looked at lazada and they all will only be delivered somewhere next week and i need it rather urgently tia

A safer bet, if you require faster wise transfers, is Kasikorn bank as that is still the partner bank with Wise. Transfers to there with wise arrives in minutes (more often seconds)

Just an update to this as i am still in Pattaya, with hopefully my final operation happening next week, I thought let’s go to the bank here and have them transfer half of the fixed deposit amount to a local bank account *which I still have*. I went to their main branch and was told by the manager that this only can be done in my home branch in Buriram. So if anyone has a fixed deposit account with Bangkok Bank, please do know that you only can withdraw money from that account in your home branch/ home province where you opened the account and NOT in another province.

Thai Spouse Extension - Changes.
MJCM replied to Liquorice's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As usual the good suffer because of the bad and this is a perfect example of IO tightening the rules because lots of people are abusing the system, but if you are legit you don't have to worry about it, just some extra hassle (and some extra trips to the IO office ) -
Naphcon-A Not available in all pharmacies. recommendation from my eye doc is not to use it more then 3 days in a row. But maybe that was in my case
-
Absolutely, my SIM card is in my own name since approx 1 year now. So no that is not into play. And another thing, that account sending was to my wife's account and not my own. But I can tell you It happened again, but now with my own SCB account, but this time it took 3 weeks for the rejection message to appear. And also that account info is/was accurate
-
Nope, only persons without a Long Stay visa, will have the chance that their accounts are at risk that their accounts will be blocked. So it will be a lot harder / impossible for a tourist on a mere Tourist visa to be able to open a bank account or maintain it.

I last year got a new passport at my Countries Embassy in Bangkok and went to Immigration to get the stamps transferred. I asked them about the Tm30 as well, they only asked if I live at the same address, which I acknowledged and they said no need. And they added only when you go abroad and come back you have to do a new Tm30. As always TiT and YMMV Ps: This was Buriram Immigration

That is not 100% accurate. I was in hospital for a long time and one day a woman, I have no idea about the department she worked for in the hospital, came up to my hospital bed and said, "we see you are on a long stay visa" , she even told me the exact expiry date, and asked if I would a document from the hospital regarding the 90 day reporting. But because I was being discharged the following day, I said no worries and will do it myself as I was still in the allowed 7 days grace period. So yes they check. But YMMV Edit: Forgot to add, On admission day, they took a copy of my passport which I had to sign

Wise transfer lost
MJCM replied to bondjames007's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
@KhunBENQ Bank was SCB, and the account is absolutely alive. I regularly transfer money in and out of it of that account, also my phone details (SIM Card is in my own name) and address etc are up to date. I had the same problem with my wife's KSK account and after I retried the transfer it went through, but the "account info not correct" msg from wise in that case came on the same day and not after 3 weeks as with this SCB transfer. I have cancelled the transfer and will leave the SCB account dormant and use my BBL and KSK accounts instead, those transfers, via Wise, arrive with NO issues. -
Wise transfer lost
MJCM replied to bondjames007's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Update: I received this email from Wise last night. I have checked and the account details are absolutely correct, so I have cancelled the transfer. Please note, I initiated this transfer on the 19th of May, it was supposed to arrive in my account on the 21st.
