  1. The only problem with these guys (not TV posters that is wink.png) is that they are very vindictive. Not so long ago I witnessed, that they tried to ran over the foot of someone, just because of a dispute over 10 Baht.

  2. Why is this BS only happening in Pattaya? So far I haven't seen and heard nothing like this behavior in the other major Tourist destinations here in Thailand. Maybe it's just because of the quality tourists Pattaya in general does attracts.

Muang Pattaya, please rethink your advertisement strategies of promoting this city as a Family destination, which it clearly isn't "yet".

  3. There is a flag shop on South Pattaya Rd. When you come from 3rd road it's on the right side after passing the buffet restaurant.

Sorry for resurrecting this, but is this place still in business ? (forgive me, but haven't been out looking yet) :jap:

  4. Sat on Pattaya beach for the New Year celebrations last night, directly opposite the Police station, I was shocked to see one Drunken Farang guy, run from the bars like a madman, onto the beach, waving his arms, singing, dancing, holding 2 very large fireworks, he lit up the first one, dancing very close to it, then the second one, he kicked it after he had lit it, it was shooting into the water,, he was not happy, so he kicked it the other way, onto hundreds of people sat enjoying themselves including small children. The firework bolted into the crowds along the floor, everyone was petrified, it hit one lady on her head. This behaviour is disgusting, and the guy walked off back to the bar. The trees were also on fire with the chinese lanterns, the market stalls had to pack up as the tents were catching alight. I never saw one policeman all evening. A very dangerous evening.

+1, my wife was so scared with all the big fireworks being mishandled by Farangs and Thais that we went home well before Midnight.

  5. The border crossing over there is around 90 KMs away from Trat, and is called Baan Had Lek, it's a little bit further down from Klong Yai.

This is the border which crosses in to Koh Kong on the Cambodian Side of the Border.

    Edit: //

There are minibuses that leave the bus station in Trat every 30 minutes or so (during the daytime) for the border (cost around 120 +/- THB One Way and takes around 1.15 Hr)

  6. Just came back from my friends house on the other side of Sukhumvit (Siam CC). Going and coming back to this side of the Sukhumvit was a nightmare as traffic was horrendous and all the u-turns and even the road to Pattaya Klang, and also the turn into Siam CC are blocked off. Not a lot of Police insight, only a single traffic cop at the turn in to Pattaya Klang. Fortunately I went by Bike and not by car.

  8. Hilarious this, 10 names smokes can remember after a big night out.

I think those that posted day in and out providing info on the japan earthquake amd more importantly our floods should win automatically.

Webfact, jfchandler and a few others come to mind.

    I thought Webfact was a bot laugh.png

    Kudos :wai:

  9. If you look at this page: http://www.jsat.tv/packs-thai.html then the basic package is around 9500 THB. (This would be a one time fee only)

It would involve installing a Sat Dish

However when I installed the same system up-county it was in total around 3000 THB (I am not 100% sure about the company name (maybe another member can confirm) which I used, was PSI)

    Edit: //

    Found a link: http://www.psi.co.th/

and also one on TV: http://www.thaivisa....r-mom-and-pops/

  10. Have to agree. Appears the banner bar where these are supposed to be as pull downs is missing. Something the webmaster needs to take a look at.

I am glad it is not just me smile.png

Thanks for looking at it too.

+1, I thought it was just me, with all the Firefox add-ons I am running ;)

  11. Typical Thai Logic, let's do this change which sophon was obviously prepared for as a lot of channels are still not working and in peak season when we have the most viewers in Pattaya at any one time so, as many guest houses etc have sophon as true is too expensive

Most of the original channels are still working, but they maybe moved up or down a couple of places. He, TiT .... :)

  12. ......

Would be really grateful if you could also include the frequency/MHz for the channels as my tv does not have an automatic channel search.

I don't think I can, as I only see the following info on a channel per channel basis (Example used Nr 21: Sophon Info Channel)

    Storage: 21

    System: BG

    Band: V/UHF

    Channel: 12

  13. .

"Thank-you very much for taking the time to do that."

Likewise, MJCM - I can't imagine how you did that, but I doubt that Sophon even has a list that comprehensive! -- When I asked their VP for a list of the new channels, he couldn't supply one.

Maybe you should offer it to them in exchange for knocking a few months off your Cable bill . . . wai.gif

    .

Thanks Guys, but as usual this was a useless exercise as Sophon did again do a Channel Reshuffle, so that list is not 100% accurate anymore :(

I will compose a new list but will do it after the new year after Sophon has stopped doing their reshuffling and has gone up to a total of 100 (as promised) Channels.

So stay tuned ;) And a Happy New Year to you all.

  15. .

"Surf, how can you have 97 Channels ??"

Not sure, but possibly because it's a new digital LED Panasonic TV? (just guessing)

When it scanned, it went up to 120 channels and numbered each usable channel it found sequentially from 1 to 67. The 44th channel it found was Bloomberg, which it shows on the display query as channel 97.

A mystery to me -- my PCTV Tuner found channels on Sophon in a completely different number scheme from the Panasonic.

    .

I just did a scan on two different tv sets (LG & Samsung) and they both came up with the same number (79 in total) and both found Bloomberg on 29. Could it be that this is Pattaya area dependent ??? I'm in between Central Road and North Road. Or maybe you have a way too advanced TV for Sophon too handle laugh.png

  16. They seem to have stayed around the same price since I bought mine 6 years ago, about the only difference was they threw in the bed liner.

We paid our money and drove out the door with it, no waiting.

Haven't been able to fault it in 6 years, runs like a dream, economical and you can get at least 10 inlaws in the back.

Just wait till you drive a Toyota Vigo Auto, you could be in heaven. laugh.png

Yesterday in Pattaya I saw a Vigo V8 (with Bangkok Plates), not sure if it was real it sounded like one though
