  1. IATA database states this:

    / 18NOV11 / 0142 UTC

National Thailand (TH) /Transit Netherlands (NL)

    Destination Brazil (BR)

    ALSO CHECK DESTINATION INFORMATION BELOW

    vi_tr.gif

    Netherlands (NL)

    in_on_no.gif

    TWOV (Transit Without Visa):

Visa required, except for Holders of onward tickets transiting

TIRULES/R32 by the same or first connecting aircraft *Note:

TWOV is not possible when arriving from a non-Schengen Member

State AND departing to a Schengen Member State TIRULES/R34

She should be fine, just make sure the luggage will be transfered without the need to go through immigration/customs.

Thanks for the information. I am sure on paper she will be ok, just wondering if anyone has flown their partner via Schiphol and experienced any issues?

My Thai wife was in the UK visiting her Sister, and she came back through Schiphol (Transit). No questions asked.

  2. I went along to the Nissan dealer on highway 36 just after Makro the other day to take a look at a new Nissan March as the dealer in Pattaya has nothing in stock.

To my shock when the bonnet was opened it was clear to see it had been in water, all the aluminium fittings, aircon pipes, engine brackets, and electrical brackets were stained and turning powdery leaving the tell tale white deposit on your hand if you rub it. I said to the sales man this car has been in water ! he just smiled and said ... we clean for you. I showed him the nuts on top of the front suspension struts as they were particularly bad and his reply was if you buy the car we will change the nuts for you.

On moving inside the car I noticed tissue paper stuffed into the 4 corners of the wind screen ? when asked ... what's this ? the reply as expected after his previous answers was don't worry we take out.

As this was only 4 days ago anybody reading this and thinking this is a joke just go down there and look for yourself.

This may well be an extream example of trying to sell a water damaged car but I'm sure its not the only place their trying to do it.

    Wow!

    Buyer beware.

how to tell if a Engine / Car was flooded

And please do not start with Wet Seats and Bad Smell ;)

Yes the bad smell is a good indicator, goes under the "take a sniff" criteria"

here is a more comprehensive list of tips, looks like new car buyers should be on alert!

    http://trucks.about....looded_cars.htm

    Thanks for that :jap:

I especially like Nr 6 (Let Your Technician Examine the Vehicle)

It's about the same as in Windows 7 where it states "Ask a Friend"

Maybe worth a post by KTB or MRO or other "Oil Slickers" to tell the not so Car savy among us how to tell if a Engine / Car was flooded

And please do not start with Wet Seats and Bad Smell ;)

  4. Not to Hijack the OP's post, but I have a friend who is in the same situation as the OP but he is on a Extension based on Marriage.

He also just can't meet the financial requirements to renew his Extension.

He's aware of the Possibility to go to Laos or Kuala Lumphur, but his question is:

Is it possible that after the "Permission to Stay" ends (December 13th) that he can extend at immigration for lets say 30 days to bring him into the New Year, or should he do a Border Run, to get 15 days ?

    Thanks :jap:

  5. Sukhumvit, Top of Pattaya Klang. There are regular busses (during the day time) leaving for Sattahip. Don't know the times though. Ask the MotoBike taxi drivers over there, they will know

And you could also ask the White Baht Busses that are running on Sukhumvit if they go over there.

  6. there are loads of "Chang EXPORT" around.

    Anyone tried ist?

I've tried it and I didn't like it. But, I'm used to Chang Classic and their Big Bottles can be found in a lot of stores (But not in the 7/11 or Family Marts)

  7. Hi Phil - Appreciate the helpful information.

I will be going to renew my one year extension based on marriage in the coming weeks. Regarding the document requirements at Chonburi Immigration, did you need to provide them with a current copy of the marriage registration (Kor Ror 2) from the amphur office (not older than six months)? Over the past several years, I have only provided them with a copy of the marriage certificate (Kor Ror 3) as part of the application and that was sufficient. However, there are indications that some immigration offices are now requiring a current Kor Ror 2.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

it's always wise to be up-to-date with the Paperwork . The Kor Ror 2 is the only prove that your Marriage is still legit / registered

And it only costs (to the best of my knowledge) around 20 Baht at the Amphur / District Office

  8. Does any have experience with this version using Gmail "offline." Does it support this?

    Thanks!

I think that only Chrome supports Gmail "Offline"

    Edit: //

If you go in Gmail to "Offline", you are redirected to the Chrome Webpage and you get the following Message:

Sorry, we don't support your browser just yet. You'll need Google Chrome to install apps, extensions and themes.

And this is with Firefox 8

  9. I just removed some old stickers from my passport. It worked for Thai, Lao and VN!

    I kept the removed stickers.

Actually it was the Laos consulate who did it first for me!

    Harry,

I just hope that the Cambodian or Thai Immigration Don't find out, because if they do, you are in lots of problems. So anyone thinking about doing the same, please don't follow this advice. !!

  10. I'm going from Thailand, wow 2 stamps and a sticker + the page I need for the Thai tourist visa, good thing I asked.

Think I'll go to Malaysia and try to get a 60 day, should leave me enough time to renew my passport at the embassy here.

I wouldn't be in this mess if I hadn't forgotten I had only paid for a single re-entry last time then left twice, cost me my non-imm visa

Anyway, thanks for your help MJCM.

    No Problems.

And, It's even more if you also count the Thai stamps.

Good luck on your trip to M'sia

  11. Hi, I have been to both, closest I could find is the 2575 which I don't want as I don't need the TV feature and it is almost the same price as the 3790.

    Sorry to hear that.

I have the 2575 (use it in my wife's car) it's a good device and we like it very much (And honestly we have tried the TV feature once, but the reception is cr_ap, so we never tried it again

I'm going to buy the Driving Recorder (addition to the 2575 (around 4k) as it (potentially) could save you a lot of troubles when you are in a accident)

  12. If it can help, let me tell me you what I got from Mitsu this week :

TRITON double cab plus 2.5 2012 automatic 5 speed

825000 baht, 1,79% for 48 months payment with 25% down (200k baht or so)

1st class insurance for one year and taxes (porobor)

    Leather seat

    Rear sensor

    Film for windows 3M

Diamond garanty 5 years or 150000km and free service for 36 months

And below the usual crap (in thai, lazy to translate , as you can notice, my English is as crap as the free stuff)

So, I'll take this offer, as I really need a car right now , and it's the only one available at the moment anyway

As for the rear cover , they quoted it at 20000 baht, the one from Top up (manual)

    http://www.topupcove...mitsubishi.html

They told that the only one available for new Triton, If anyone has any suggestions..

    Cheers

Could you tell me which dealer / Province you got this deal

    Edit: //

Looking at your username. I bet it's BKK

  13. Why do you not try and do it inside of Thailand i.e. an extension? A multi means border runs every 90 days, I go once a year to Immigration to get an extension, then every 90 days just pop into their office with the relevant forms and done.

Yes, that way is easy, but maybe the OP did it this way because his income isn't up to par (40k a month) or he can't show the 400k in his Bank Account] or he has some other reason ?
