I had the same problems with windows 10 updates, getting error codes.. Chatted with Microsoft help and they told me to download the Windows Media Creation Tool. Download the tool. Run it to update your computer. Tell it you want to keep all the files and apps. Let it run it takes a while about 30 minutes in my case. Solved all the problems I had.

Android 8 and 8.1 are not being supported since December 2021. So I recommend that you would need at least Android 10. Been using them since November 2020, paid for 2 years. No real problems, but did go down for a couple of days, about a month ago, but that has now been fixed. i use it basically for UK TV, use their dedicated server for UK. Also have access to wireguard, works very well. If you need support they are very good.

Have you considered that it may be your good anti virus system causing the problems? As one more farang says Windows Defender and the occasional scan with Malware Bytes Free should be enough to keep you laptop safe. Also when you have updates turned off and then turned on there is going to be a lot of catching up to be done. As for slowness on restart have you thought of investing in an SSD

ITV works for me on Firefox as does Channel 4. Chivas why don't you try it if it doesn't work you can always uninstall it.

I second TCL, which also has 3 year warranty, which you won't get with the better known brands, I have had one now for 4 years no problems. Previously had a Samsung, just after warranty finished black line appeared across the picture cost me about 8000 to fix, then all the HDMI and USB ports went down cost me another few thousand to fix, and then another black line appeared across the picture. I was told problem with the LED's again. I was told it was not worth fixing, very expensive and to buy a new one, but not to buy the expensive big brand names. The person who told me was a very well respected and recommended TV engineer in Pattaya who works from a wheelchair.

This is true of not only Microsoft. Lots of Apps etc get upgraded unnecessarily and eventually just become bloatware. examples are Utorrent and Ccleaner

It appears they have not updated my visa extension. Says permit end 2/9/2021, although I have updated it last month to 2/9/2022, which is shown on my passport. I looked at their website and requested a free trial, via their chat line, they replied that they only give free trials on Monday to Friday because of sport on the weekends. Free trials last for 6 hours if you do not include sport and 1 hour if you want sport, so you are not going to look at a lot of free sport in the 1 hour they give you. I wanted to chat about other things, but they were totally ignored, so gave up. I have still not had a reply to the e-mail I sent, and yes I have checked my junk. Bank Holiday in the UK today maybe they will reply after the holiday. Does not look like a service I shall use, but thanks for the suggestion and glad that they work for you.
