  1. Football or soccer is Association Football https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_football Rugby Union and Rugby League are Rugby Football https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_football Rugby Football was started at Rugby School in the U.K. hence the name.
  2. This is great banter! It really is.
  3. Not true. Win the last two matches and we qualify for the Champions Trophy, whatever the hell that is. "England need to avoid finishing in the bottom two in order to confirm a Champions Trophy spot. They are currently last, worse off than Bangladesh on net run-rate as the only teams with just one win to their name. They can potentially leapfrog them, and their opponents on Wednesday, the Netherlands (eighth, with four points), with a victory, while a further win in their final game against Pakistan should ensure a top-eight finish."
  4. World rankings, not a one off tournament. Still World Cup champions for a few days anyway. 😛
  5. You do realize that we're currently the holders of the Cricket World Cup. For a few more days at least. 🙂
  6. There's only two things I couldn't live without; my sight and my sense of humour. The rest I could manage.
  7. England are the only country in the world rated in the top five for Cricket, Football and Rugby. We therefore have a claim as the greatest sporting nation in the world, currently. 😛
  8. I swear by Nasol. It won't cure an ongoing problem but of all the decongestants I've tried it works the fastest.
  9. I think being in a good relationship helps as long as it's not stifling. I'm lucky in that respect; we give each other some room.
  10. Agreed, but if you enjoy gardening, appreciate single malts or craft beer and go cycling you'll be pretty much emulating them in your own style.
  11. In my opinion there is no such thing as boredom. A lively, interesting person is never bored. There's always a place to visit, a sky to be watched, a book to be read. The secret is variety and finding pleasure, even in the mundane.
  12. In Western countries you pay into a State Pension for 30-40 years and get a small proportion back on a weekly basis and pay 20% tax on the money. That's more the realty. Pensions earned are based on contributions paid not age. Frozen pensions become nominal very quickly.
  13. You send your wife out to do surveys on gay issues? Lol. Unlikely. I mean everybody knows the people in Isaan are suffering terribly because of gay people. If only they stopped waving their flags the economy would recover. Ah, and the old "shoving it down my throat" nonsense and the "keep it to yourself nonsense". So tiresome.
  14. Just to be clear, are you saying that gays are perverts?
  15. What a horrible way to go. Nobody deserves that.
  16. Funnily enough I was sitting there just a while ago, peering up at the sky and looking at all the stars spread like pieces of quicksilver across black velvet. In awe, I watched the waxing moon ride across the zenith of the heavens like a winged chariot towards the ebony void of infinite space, wherein the tethered belts of Jupiter and Mars hang, forever festooned in their orbital majesty. And as I looked at all this I thought... I must put a roof on this toilet.
  17. Sorry to hear about the accident, BMT. Hope you recover speedily.
  18. You're so kind.
  19. Tryhard, says the man who's posted 9,835 times since March. Beyond parody.
  20. Intellect? Lol. You asked a question of me. I responded with an answer and a link to an example which, by your admission you didn't bother to watch. Hardly the sign of a great intellect and very tiresome. 🙂 As for Alex O'Connor being a nobody, he has almost 300 videos discussing at length moral and philosophical issues and has over 600T subscribers so your insult is unwarranted.
  21. I really don't have the patience or the crayons to explain it to you.
  22. It doesn't surprise me.
  23. I was alluding to one of Peterson's methods of deflecting questions which invite ridicule. Alex O'Connor discusses it here. There's a good example about 30 seconds in.
  24. "'What do you mean by life? What do you mean by mean? What do you mean by what?"' - Jordan Peterson.
