Pattaya City Leaders Say They Will Seriously Tackle PM2.5 Dust Issue
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
My bet is they're going to need a big budget for this.....it's all pi** and wind! -
Illegal guns, not gun control laws, are the problem in Thailand
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The current laws are fine....however, there should be no further issuance of licenses to anyone..guns should be banned! The black market for guns is huge..driven by demand. The cops are part of that...so it'll never be stopped. No-one takes a knife to a fight nowadays...they all have hand guns! -

A power pole is about 10" square....not a large target....but so many on bikes, manage to hit them with great accuracy. -
Taiwan seeking answers over hit and run death in Bangkok
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
The hypocritic oath is totally meaningless here in Thailand. A tourist' life is worth nothing to hospital managers. -
Commerce Minister to Lead Trade Delegation to China
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Oh goody....a huge delegation all going for Peking duck! -
Thai minister heats up COP28 with climate change commitment
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Unfortunately, A Pol. General ( so obviously knowledgable:) in the climate field) opening up and making bold promises at this forum, is so typical of Thailand. They will do very little about his promises....actually, nothing will be done! -
Parent’s tutor requirements spark online debate over Rajabhat University
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
This "university" is just a business...a diploma mill! I disagree absolutely on your point...certainly many private institutions are suspect at best....but most of the big name public universities are quite good and turn out good graduates. However...the level of proxy students is quite alarming in Thailand. -

Giant Light Towers Installed on Na Jomtien Beach to Please Visitors
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Fantastic lights....just need loud, amplified dog barking, crapping tin can Thai music and extremely noisy racing motor cycles.... -
Four Danish tourists and van driver injured in incident near airport
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
It could be many things...all mostly avoidable...even though the OP does say the van driver was overtaking. -
Foreign men will soon need to have proof of age before taking a hooker.....Pattaya has something like 25000 hookers, in a place where prostitution doesn't exist....unless of course the cops can make money!

Four Danish tourists and van driver injured in incident near airport
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
There must be a special driving test for public transport drivers....one that specifically turns them into utter idiots! A narrow road and this idiot overtakes when another vehicle is approaching.... -
Another totally worthless rant again...or as usual. They refuse to change! In fact, some units here are having to abolish some faculties due to no students....they're finding new students all want easy work after their studies. Mom and Dad don't care!

Under Construction Condo’s Fire Escape Collapses, 3 Houses Damaged
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
"A luxury condo block with external fire escape"....never heard of external fire escapes in modern structures..that went away decades ago......Some of the worst quality construction practices in modern cities....China is probably worse..and they have complete buildings collapse. -
I've been in Thailand almost 20 years and been visiting 10 years prior to moving. Child exploitation in the "non existent" prostitution businesses, has always been in the headlines.... Impossible yet again, that Thai cops are not involved..impossible that they don't "know" anything......and even more ridiculous/childish, is their annual walk through Pattaya and finding no evidence of hookers!

Immigration police promotions dogged by rumours of nepotism
ChrisY1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Of course, top cop at immigration at Phuket would likely be one of, if not the biggest, money making scam sites in Thailand. In Thailand, it's impossible to escape the grip the RTP have over every profitable enterprise....legal or otherwise, the cops are always at the front! -
Tourist rubles ensure warm welcome for Russians in Thailand
ChrisY1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
“Russian people love Thailand, the people, the climate, the nature and the delicious food".....they missed, the ease of corruption and simple ways to avoid police issues!
