  1. I know exactly what you are looking for and if you PM me, I will provide you with the small but expert Company (run by a European) who installed my home security system. I spent about 55K, but it has paid itself back in the 4 years since installation. Also, their after-installation service is brilliant. Don't fool around when it comes to your home security:I prefer a "complete peace-of-mind" !

  2. I don't want to throw a spanner in your wheels, but please understand that (if you want to use copper piping for (hot)-water transmission), thequality of copper-piping in Thailand is very poor indeed !

In fact; it is well-known that in addition to this poor quality, the soldering material used to connect pipes etc. contains a chemical which will eventually cause minuscule perforations in the actual pipes with obviously disastrous results.

There is a far better product in the market (and we've been installing this at many projects around Thailand for years) which performs far better and gives you complete peace-of-mind. Just PM me and I shall not only clue you in, but covert you.

  4. It depends on, a single house doesn't need building permit until the roof construction starts. And in many rural areas there is no need at all for a building permit. Also there are not many places i Thailand that have zone planning although some islands have it.

A developer needs, this is in addition to the building permit, a development license and a land development license. Check these licenses first.

thank you for your reply i am thinking about a 250 unit preconstruction develpment in phuket that im told is 50 %sold off plan, I have been informed that the project dosnt have all building permits just an enviromental permit

    whatever that is.

If all they have is the EIS-permit (Environmental Impact Study) then you could have a problem. Thee must be a Development License AND Building Permit prior to the commencement of construction.

Simpel solution to your doubts: Get your lawyer to perform a 'Due Diligence' exercise before you sign or pay anything.

  5. Great Post ! ! It is one of the first 'amazing' experiences of my life in Thailand. When I visited (what has been ever since my wife)'s farm near Kabin Buri;I noticed this Giant Leaf Plant for the first time and was rather charmed by it.

Took a 'seedling' back home to Pattaya and we have enjoyed this phenomena ever since (for 18 years now).

Thank you for the post !

  6. He still has it after all this years.......frankly, I believe he might be rather overlooked as one of the all time greats.B)

I couldn't agree more; R.A. is a unique and extremely funny actor, famous & loved all over the world, because as 'Mr.Bean' there's no issues of language-barriers, since he talks virtually none.

From a friend, who's also a longtime friend of R.A., it turns-out that this (triple Uni. Degree-holder) is,in fact, a very serious and fairly shy person,in real life. He's very much into Buddhism and a very thoughtful guy.He most certainly has my vote for an Oscar next time 'round !!

  7. Jaapfries you need to respond more often. :clap2:

I think he meant it seriously

    SC

    Dear StreetCowboy & CanuckKamuck,

We have a little saying where I come from and I'm sure you've heard it before.

At the risk of 'upsetting' the Rudyard Kipling swinging poster, here goes:

"You Can Lead A Horse To The River, But You Can't Force Him To Drink"

Like I said: nonsensical drivel by an obvious moron of epic proportions !

    Not worth wasting my time.

Feel very sorry for him, though.

  8. Reading through this entire sequence of posts almost makes me vomit.

The other thing it does is that it makes me embarrassed to be a "fellow-farang" in Thailand !

What these deprived chaps are addressing is "Lust"; not "Love" - these two phenomena are often confused, I realize, but

then, when I read this last bit of drivel by "Powderpuff", who states "Rule #1. In Thailand you never lose your girl. You only lose your turn."

I did what I hardly ever do and that was to respond.

All of you guys must be extremely deprived bunch of mentally retarded bigots.

Sounds to me that, without doubt, "masturbation" would be the best solution for the lot of you !

When do you actually "grow-up" and establish some resemblance of "character", huh ?

I, for one, have a hell-of-a-lot more respect for the "Thai-Ladies" you're all referring to, than for these

self-opinionated, arrogant and no doubt spineless "superior" Farang !

My "Rule # 1: You reap what you Sow !

You said she was a terrible shag.

So you need to go back & confirm she's a terrible shag. Obsession.

Rule #1. In Thailand you never lose your girl. You only lose your turn.

  9. Or you could try REAL humor:

Man who wants pretty nurse, must be patient.

Passionate kiss, like spider web, leads to undoing of fly.

Better to be pissed off than pissed on.

Lady who goes camping must beware of evil intent.

Squirrel who runs up womans' leg will not find nuts.

Man who leaps off cliff jumps to conclusion.

Man who runs in front of car gets tired, man who runs behind car gets

    exhausted.

Man who eats many prunes get good run for money.

War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left.

Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night.

It takes many nails to build a crib, but one screw to fill it.

Man who drives like hell is bound to get there.

Man who stands on toilet is high on pot.

Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement.

Man who fish in other man's well often catch crabs.

    Finally CONFUCIUS SAY. . .

"A lion will not cheat on his wife, but a Tiger Wood!"

  10. Seen him !! Wot a plonker laugh.gif

The canadian or the volunteer ??? whistling.gif

Hey; slow-down: don't you ever call a Canadian a "Plonker", or I'll send the Volunteer Cops after ya' ! !

  11. My Goodness: if this is "THE BEST OF THAIVISA" I dread to see the WORST ! ! !

    What useless dribble ! ! !

    So many Girls; soooo little Time . . . . . . and then you get this rubbish dished-out; unbelievable ! ! !

  12. Please bear in mind that, in order to purchase and use Walkie-Talkie devices in Thailand, one needs to apply for and obtain a type of "Broadcasting" license. I'm sure the retailer will be able to point you in the right direction. BTW; these licenses can only be held in the name of Thai Nationals.

    Safety & Security first, hey ? !

This is a bit like the Chainsaw; for this device in Thailand, one needs to obtain, what basically amounts to, a "Fire-arm License" - Believe It or Not

  13. In case you are unaware of it....

Just for your info, Thai as well as Indian, Japanese and Chinese students as a whole are way ahead of US and Euro students in terms of learning, diligence and intelligence.... both in areas of Maths and Science....

What these Asian students lack mostly is.... an equal opportunity.... to learning, resources and practicum.... among a few others.... B)

    Dear Mr. Mkwish:

I can see where you're going, but apart from the fact that "Specific Knowledge" may be present in most of the students/graduates - the fact remains that the General Knowledge of ALL Thai's is extremely poor by any standards.

Next time you meet a student/graduate or PhD, you ask them simple questions like:

    1. What's the name of the Capital of The Netherlands ?

    2. What's the cause of High & Low tide ?

    3. Where does "Wind" originate ?

    4. What is the base ingredient of Plastic ?

And all YOU will get is a very blank stare !

Don't take my word for it, mate: just try it, okay ?

  14. I think we need lots of pictures to help us really understand the issue at hand here - lol

    Excellent idea!

Oh well; perhaps the 'root' of this evil (pardon the pun) lies in what was so incredibly eloquently worded by one Rudyard Kippling, who once wrote:

"When a hill-girl grows lovely, she's well worth crossing 50 miles of bad country, to lay eyes upon"

Just like in the world of flowers, there's a fairly limited time where they bloom; this is a 'window' during which the flower needs to attract the bees, birds etc., in order to ensure the survival of their species: it is really no different with us homosapiens, hence the utterly sexy and mind-inspiring dress-habits of these young women (adults !)

Soon enough they will be married (& divorced), have children and be bogged-down by life in general: please let's give 'em a break, huh ?!

    Good on you, George !
