The last time I went to Vietnam (2024) I paid $25 for an online e-visa, although I only went for the weekend. Looking online it appears that UK citizens can just enter without one. Any first-hand recent experience is very welcome. Thanks in advance

I wonder if Thai Airways' long haul planes have working charging sockets in every seat though! They might want to sort that out before preventing passengers from charging in other ways.

Does anyone have any FIRST HAND feedback on how to prove your 500k+ in the bank? I can get PDF statements from my bank, but if I'm already overseas and they ask for a certified letter from my SCB bank, it will be difficult. I'm happy to get a letter from SCB, but I believe all documents need to be digital, anyway. As much as I hate 'Big Brother,' in this instance, it would be convenient if the embassy can actually contact banks to check if balances are real.

I believe it's all online, with no visit to the consulate. I have no idea what file types or limits there are, but don't want to 'try it just to find out'. I prefer to have it all ready in advance. I'm expecting JPEGs and PDFs. I'm presuming that I first need to be out of Thailand to even apply. I plan to go to HCMC, Vietnam Then I need to show proof of location (a previous member said the stamp in my passport is ideal. I will have a letter from the UK company I own 50% of, explaining why I need to be here, with proof of monthly payments from that company to me. I will have approx 600,000 THB in my own personal SCB account. I will have an updated bank book and will try to get an online statement from my app, but I guess a letter from the bank would be useful, too. Anything I'm missing, have overlooked or screwed up? I plan to apply for a DTV in HCMC, based on remote work through a UK company that I own. I feel that I meet the criteria, and have evidence. Considering that I have a wife, house & Thai kids here, do you guys feel that mentioning this will help or hinder my application? - it could help, showing stability and affordable accommodation - it could hinder, as it could appear that I'm just trying to avoid a marriage or retirement visa I have tried to make this a poll, and all votes are welcome... but I usually screw up trying to do these polls. I'm one of those 'dog lovers' and 'dog protectors' and 'it's never the dog's fault' kinda guys. So, how does one go about getting a Non-O spouse visa that enables trips abroad during the year? Is it a case of single entry (90 day), having to stay here and keep cash in the bank for those 90 days, and then applying for an extension? Sorry for appearing thick on this topic. Although I have been here 25 years, I was on a WP until a year ago.

However, if I end up with a single entry, I presume a re-entry permit will fix that, will it? And does the 400k have to be seasoned if applying (first application) in HCMC? Thanks again

Thanks Jack, That's perfect. I was thinking HCMC would be the best / easiest place. Ideally I want a DTV, but I'm not sure if I can convince them. I own 50% of a UK company that requires me to work online, ideally in this time zone.
