  1. Did you perhaps read a different article? A group of 20 Thais attacked 3 tourists is what I read. I also read that one of them wanted to know the gender ... fair question. What is a 'Lima' by the way?
  2. Use your head... of course it matters. The concept of of 10 armed Arabs picking on people, compared to a single guy with what might have been a gun is completely different..... for heavens sake.
  3. And who might he be?
  4. Well I am not sure comparing to Thais has validity in this. They are interested in foreigners, I also suspect retirement extension numbers may well reflect negatively to other classes.... but I have no data on that. I reckon education extensions might well contain a few miscreants, as well as married, if only to accommodate the younger ones. Maybe retirement extensions going to older folks is an idea, over 60s not over 50s. Are these gangs of motorcycle clubs really made up of over 50s on retirement extensions?
  5. They are perhaps grasping the fact that pursuing the large numbers of lesser value tourists actually deters them.
  6. The link suggested a single man in black was involved yet the above suggests a group.
  7. The reality is it is too easy to obtain without the need to have the money in the bank too....
  8. I am often wrong but the chance of Thaksin coming back to Thailand lies between slim chance and no chance... and slim left the building!
  9. Well yes, and yet more offering absolutely nothing much to do......Pattaya and Bangkok cover the bases.....
  10. My Mrs drives between Pattaya and Korat a lot.....I haven't been there for ages,, she sure makes good time!
  11. How many days does the initial VOA get you on arrival?
  12. Well it used to get done by those renting out the deck chairs and tables....I used to watch an old boy collect all the trash etc from his patch on Naklua beach.. then toss it all in the sea a little further North.
  13. I think the workout is more likely the culprit.... although not too much a fan of salad and open to blame that too.... especially if containing special leaves!
  14. Something like that deters me actually. I don't fancy going back to Bali because the VOA requirement is back. Not really about the money though, more to do with having to queue in slow moving inefficient long lines!
  15. The well worn phrase 'no good deed goes unpunished' rings so true here.
  16. I thought parking had been temporarily permitted over this extended holiday. So much for the new car parks, ie T21 that were supposed to alleviate the problems.... a drop in the bucket. Beach vendors don't have to try and get down beach rd!
  17. Yes, Thailand only took 9 years and counting. UK different system.......
  18. Time to get over it perhaps.... having the food served fast and hot, but having to wait for rice until it is cold already, is part of the fun!
  19. Yes many do seem to be clumsy and lacking in experience.... thinking they might know their job is an error. From the bug sprayer who poisoned my fish and another who sprayed the liquid into electrical sockets, and a gardener who sliced up my water pipes with his strimmer.......to the pool servicers that sprayed water on the pump to clean it!
  20. I doubt there are many established condo car parks without an abandoned car or motorcycle in them... probably a few owners have to make it back from Covid absence... if they survived. I know one guy with 3 cars blocking prime spaces, two might as well be abandoned. .
  21. Well he hasn't dumped any unconscious locals on the street like last night's empties!
