  1. Despite what the people issuing them say!
  2. With or without the big fat brown envelopes?
  3. We got 'corporation pop', which came from the tap!
  4. Sure has, never knew what it was all about for my first decade here.... should be covered by the property owners, but now they found a way to blame the tourists and foreigners and hit them for random fines!
  5. Kind of my sentiment... goes for the theme attractions and National Parks too. Probably why I never went back to Samet, as some goon has his money grubbing hand out before you get your feet wet. I think I told another where to go on Koh Chang when I was inland near a waterfall. Often seems like random scroungers trying it on!
  6. AI can probably write a good paper for them too!
  7. That might well be true... I am close to 20 years now but my first years here were not actually on retirement extensions. I did multiple entry tourist, and multiple non-Imm Os. Things were pretty easy and casual back then. If things do change, I am hoping for a grandfathering option.... and not something more akin to a clear out!
  8. Yes I recall.. another of those long Pattaya sagas like the bridge over the canal, The Waterfront etc etc.....
  9. The roaming Arab groups are Kuwaitis.
  10. Yes, you have to fill a tax form in. First step is a COR from immigration. Tax certificate(s) from the bank showing tax paid. I stopped doing it because interest rates went so low, the rebates weren't worth the effort. The tax office were interested if I got a UK State pension as they thought that would mean I was liable to pay them than claim back.
  11. Yes you can claim back withholding tax if annual income is below the threshold.
  12. They certainly come from the big village , Big Mango, here. Sick of he sight of them.
  13. Yep....so does that mean they can set up a wooden kiosk on the road in and charge foreigners 10x more to go in now?
  14. I have not been pulled over since pre-Covid, or paid any stipend for over 6 years. You must be a frequent user of a lucrative road.
  15. Mr Newton does not produce any news articles.. more simply presents ones from other sources and gives commentary on them. They would be more suitable targets for that comment.
  16. I was not in Thailand long when driving North in the Ayutthaya area I came face to face with 2 sports cars racing the wrong way, and I had to get over to the left as far as I could..... probably above the law hi-sos!
  17. Yes, his constant whistleblowing bordered on suicidal... now it seems clear why!
  18. Only by finding someone heading that way who might buy it at a good price. (Or a Khmer girl/guy working here, many do at restaurants.)
  19. I was rudely asked by someone if I peed in the pool, and I replied 'not my own'......
  20. jacko45k replied to JimTripper's topic in Pattaya
