  1. Yeah, everyone else knows more than this guy who heads a department, is a doctor. He should be getting advice from no names on a gossip forum!
  2. Extremely long term expensive!
  3. Just go to the hospital and see a doctor.. or look up Doctor Oliver. At the expensive Bangkok Hospital Pattaya you should go directly to a specialist....
  4. Great, will run a cable from Phuket to Pattaya!
  5. No problem on the other side of Pattaya.. to the North.
  6. Sadly reflects on how poorer people have to try and resolve disputes themselves!
  7. Do the cables arrive at the pool house to a breaker box/distribution panel?
  8. Yes, at some point they were requiring people to stay in these quarantine hotels.... I did not think it ridiculous. I welcomed the idea, people needed to get back to their homes and families, and this was a way that could happen, without infecting the country for those already living here... of which I was one.
  9. I am not a fan of keeping very elderly people in prison, requiring jails to have decent medical facilities, which are expensive. I presume he had good character while being a prisoner all those years.
  10. Well since he rolled over her head that might be questionable..... bikes will undertake, trucks will try and squeeze past..... as a small bike rider, I am very worried by large vehicles... cement trucks at the top of the list! That said, I also drive a pickup and young girls do crazy things!
  11. Great around town, but not the best once out on a serious road.
  12. Well it is the Nepalese authorities who are releasing him under their rules, A provision in Nepalese law allows inmates who have shown good character and completed 75% of their jail term to be released. "Keeping him in the prison continuously is not in line with the prisoner's human rights," the verdict read, It might be expensive for the Nepalese to provide him with health care and their beliefs may not align with a Western 'let him rot' attitude!
  13. Do you find you get beeped and buzzed? My bike is not that fast and I am often overtaken with very little clearance... and lane, and lane markings, are not observed in Thailand.... (certainly my Pattaya area). The locals certainly cannot hold a lane round a bend!
  14. I wasn't, I was actually responding to someone only looking at the downside. As someone who transfers money here from overseas to live on, it does not go un-noticed. My Sterling has been tumbling since mid-December.
  15. He does not post directly on Asean now... so unlikely he sees yoyr comment. You might do better looking or posting on Youtube on 'Tim Newton Today'.
  16. Yes but a stronger baht makes the price based in USD less, so your point is a bit silly really. Property prices are going to rise here with demand.... rentals are already going up, from Covid lows yes, but up they go.
  17. Just talking of this the other day... two friends who have recently had Covid, one mild symptoms, the other said a very bad flu with dizziness and laid up in bed for 4 full days... usually a robust type. The latter would be a reason for concern to elderly or those with other ailments...although very much like other flu infections.
  18. Getting a bit chicken or egg now...... Reduce the cost of oil and gas imports and get my electric bill down! Improve the price of the house then I can sell and get out of dodge!
  19. Rather a lot of supposition going on there....most bike riders would avoid the dirt shoulder, they are very bumpy and extremally dangerous if one touches the front brake. These trucks (and other vehicles) will attempt to squeeze past and not give sufficient clearance.... it can be quite frightening.
  20. Not an option for the items I was trying to pay. One was virus protection on my laptop, another a TV streaming service. A UK card will work.
  21. Yes, I watched the TV documentary drama.
  22. Yes, he did not phrase it well but I see what he means. Be nice to get a bit of interest on my 800k!
  23. On Auto I have found the lights around Pattaya don't have the long waits like one sees in the capital... although when the police take control of them, or do traffic duty themselves, they seem to make things worse. Some of the lights have sequences that are not efficient too.... The NYE celebrations in town are for the tourists now.....
  24. One of the reasons I used the Railway Line Bypass Rd, rather than Sukhumvit. Trucks cannot see you down there and the drivers are impatient, often exhausted and make dangerous actions. This is so sad a young woman killed like this, but so often they have so little road sense....
