  1. Yes, that is the point I am trying to make.... I see all to often people using the phrase 'died with Covid, rather than die from Covid'.... as if Covid is nothing to be concerned about! Or the even more stark comment where they would have died quite soon anyway.. trivializing Covid, and even early demise.
  2. Available from nearby Embassies or only online now?
  3. Heavens, do not suggest he was using weed, that only makes people drive better!
  4. There and a bank are the only places I get mine.
  5. Not to them....... The assistant director thinks the link is sufficient to warrant him recommending people get vaccinated. I understand there can be comorbidities... Like AIDs the actual reason cited for death may rest elsewhere.... but Covid is involved.
  6. Or simply not paying attention and using her phone.
  7. And more recently, particularly in the case of ducks, it is now regarded as a bad thing to take your kids to the park to feed them with left over bread.....
  8. Did not seem to be the case with my nephew...
  9. Very presumptive without an autopsy!
  10. What are you banging on about?.... Posters are making more fuss about 71 being referred to as elderly!
  11. Tempting, but I will pass!
  12. And why do kids with parents and a home take them... because they can?
  13. And stand a good chance in The Eurovision song contest and a job in the media!
  14. Agents, a well known one once told me, are facilitators. I agree that it can appear obstacles are thrown up now and again to push people towards bypassing regular channels and enlisting an agent. But toeing the line in Thailand would get you nowhere. I feel for those who are older, have disability etc, standing in long lines in the sun and being herded about is just impossible for them..... I suspect immigration would be even more crowded and confused if agents weren't applying some semblance of organization. Remember Chiangmai some years back.. didn't people have to arrive at 5am to stand a chance... and be waiting in a crowd? Without help, many will just risk overstay!
  15. Yes, that statement depressed me..... There is some policy to do Covid tests on arriving dead people in Thailand now?
  16. Well I would not have a dog where I currently live.. and cats can be pretty finnicky.....I could understand taking the treat of some spare rib-bones home, or steak trimmings for a dog though. Perhaps for the USA guys who need to eat every few hours, the thought of left over pizza congealing in the fridge stops them sleeping!
  17. We had a drunk off duty policeman waving his gun about on one train journey I did.. and me keeping my head down as the only falang and I am sometimes a magnet for drunks to talk to. I love a few beers but on balance I suspect trains and stations should be dry....
  18. Have never taken to that concept.... as you say it looks rather pathetic, and old leftovers are hardly appetizing.. even the cat doesn't want them. Got into the habit of not ordering as many dishes as I used to!
  19. He would need to stand on a box!
  20. Not sure about that... many seem to want to get out of town after some years. I always though those remaining in Central Pattaya were those who didn't want to drive and could be seen walking down Arunothai with a shopping bag early morning, and had the odd meal from a 7-11.
