  1. You should review that comment, you will likely find it was not me. Comms cables don't usually have much power in them. Often the power cables at the top start things off, and burning insulation drips down onto the comms cables below, which are a big tangled mess. Recall seeing that on a similar fire on Soi 15, Buakhao.
  2. It would be surprising for communications cables to catch fire.
  3. Yes, it got a bit breezy at my place yesterday, late afternoon.....
  4. So when a vehicle is coming straight for you, you accelerate????
  5. I was going to suggest the Dusit.... I often booked there for the Fireworks and thought it excellent.
  6. A bit chicken and egg...certainly no reason to be at Ekamai unless catching the bus. All a bit of a drag when older and perhaps encumbered by a suitcase.
  7. Yeah I remember initialing each tab in a couple of places, to verify I had made the order I expect. At the price they charge a few runners and disputes to be expected. I just put my tabs into the smoker's cup nearby!
  8. You did right...... no telling what happens with personal information. Same applies with say Line account.
  9. Yes, take the Thai Mrs and waitresses not required!
  10. Because most of them are dead, I imagine.
  11. Seems to be a wise approach.....I hadn't heard of a condo scam here for a while as the action seemed to be more down in Phuket. Anyone interested in buying off plan in Pattaya go take a stroll around The Waterfront. Anybody get refunds for that yet?
  12. They had a test run in a naval vessel just under 2 years ago.
  13. Isn't that what has happened to the old Pig and Whistle'? I never really used these LK Metro food stalls.... more inclined to get some food at what used to be a good selection in the bars along the sides. Quite a few of those have gone now, replaced by chrome pole palaces or girlie bars, where none of the staff would have the slightest idea how to serve up a sausage and mash plate.
  14. As a KSA friend once told me, 'us Arabs don't do self control very well'. And that was presumably sober.
  15. I don't know, I live out in Pattaya. Been hearing of the road works seemingly forever. Sure train is an option, but not having transport when you get there etc doesn't suit everyone. It was a slow trip on the train last time I did it.
  16. What he said!
  17. They love chopping them trees down.... you are likely correct in that they like using noisy machines!
  18. Yes, after 3 or 4 accidents or a death or two. I presume the pole was there first!
  19. Well I have to say well done to the police here sorting this out. It may not be the crime of the century but credit where credit is due!
  20. Is it still nigh on impossible to get to Hua Hin then, it taking longer than a weekend in traffic? Or perhaps the road works are done. It is hardly surprising Pattaya comes out on top really.
  21. Topic is about an old US guy taking a jog in a Pattaya park being assaulted, by a Thai. What are you on about?
  22. Well in this case it was an older retired person so most of your comment off base. He said he had to hang about a good bit and in this climate not my idea of worthwhile for a few thousand baht.
