  1. All I can say is, he got 60 days, good until May-something, entered on a tourist visa.
  2. It does not affect me personally. But I like to see govts offering compassion to all who suffer, including foreigners. That's worth the price of a few dodgers. So what? Hurting anybody?
  3. The generals banned Thanatorn who would have actually been a progressive, populist PM. So Thaksin's daughter will absolutely win. At least we'll have a good-looking, young PM again. Phra Yut begone, damned spot!
  4. Jack, can't tell which way you lean on this. I'm for erring on the side of compassion even if we have to put up with a few dodgers.
  5. No, he did a border run just before Covid, between jobs, cancelled work permit. Lucky he came in on a tourist visa! Hope they'll keep Covid extensions for the many who lost their jobs.
  6. Perfect Kingston packaging, not resealed. Drive reads 250 GB, fails copying at 10.2 MB. I only opened one, did not test them all. Negotiating with Lazada now.
  7. Sure glad there's a place in the world not woke or politically-correct. Where 'girls' (yes, really) like being looked at. Human nature at its finest--works for both sides!
  8. I learned with Tip at MagicThai & I'm pretty good now. Intuitive learning tailored to your needs, no textbooks. Conversation, Thai songs & soaps, reading, keyboarding (who writes anymore?). Great stuff. PM me for a phone number & LINE. Only online these days.
  9. Recent Lazada story. Bought FIVE "Kingston" 256 GB flash drives for a project. They were fake & would not copy files. Arrive March 11 at 2 pm. I called Lazada on March 18 at 230pm. Their seven day return policy runs by hours not days! No refund, no return!
  10. Happened. My jobless friend just got 60 days extension from March 25 on a tourist visa. MTT.
  11. Lotta expats lost their jobs & spent their visa money. Just sayin'...
  12. Should have appropriated the structures as soon as Hopewell bailed. We might have had public transit to Don Muang for 29 years already.
  13. The virus may have a completely different plan (no medals)! It is inconceivable that there will not be a new strain sooner or later. Might be fine, might be doomsday. Certainly the focus should be on getting the rest of the world three-dose vaxxed with effective vaccines immediately.
  14. Still working well for you? Doc tells me 90% of her glaucoma patients have normal pressure. Guess I'm lucky to have an early warning. Seems like there are several kinds of drops to decrease IOP using different pharmacology.
  15. Thanks for this. I'm reading up (while I can still see!). Had B4250 of tests plus B1750 for follow-up. Both IOP tests were done at noon a month apart. Guidelines are to test IOP on different days at different times; that's next. So far just blurry vision, esp in early morning & can't see fine print. Glaucoma soecialist doc is good; she part-times at Rutnin but her full-time gig is at the public Monks Hospital.
  16. Apple Store Genius told me the easiest option was just take a photo of the vax cert. I also took one of just the QR code. Then it's easy to access from your photos folder with no Internet.
  17. Sweetheart's family was middle class but had a mortgage. I was proud to pay it off. Had to buy her a house, of course, but refused a car in Bangkok. Haven't bought her gold in a couple of decades as prices rise. 30 years of happiness is worth any treasure. If the family is well-off, they usually return the sin sod or buy the house for their daughter. It's a good system, not like the bride-slave dowry in India.
  18. Rutnin is my eye hospital, too. Fine print was getting difficult & blurry vision on waking. No black areas in vision but my intraocular pressure is up which could signal the start of glaucoma. No real easy fix for that.
