February 2023 might be right. Thailand is just disappointing at the moment.

In 30 years, we've always had house geckos. In the last few months, though, they've gotten diarrhea. Streaks down our pictures & cupboards, spots on the floor. What could have changed to alter their digestion? Anybody else observed this???

Science has been sequencing 1918-1920 variants for 100 years. They're pretty sure they know how it progressed and minimised. We've added a wild card to the deck: Vaccines. It will be quite a while before anybody knows how that shakes down, for good or ill.

My Xmas present came in the form of a free Moderna booster courtesy of Royal Thai Police. Then a Xmas phonecall from our daughter visiting Niagara Falls (Canuck side); she'd caught Covid from her b/f's family...after two Modernas. What a world!

If you are in Bangkok and have received your second vax dose before Sept 30, Royal Thai Police are sponsoring walk-in for Moderna boosters till December 30 at Amarin Plaza (Chidlom BTS). Get there by 7 am, get in line on the ground floor. Out by noon or so. Nurse told me 0.75 mcg. Little physical distancing in line but most everyone is double-masked. Vax centre itself is safe as. Thai govt should take home some lessons for this; their registration system has been utter chaos.

At 71, having had two AZs, i would have much preferred a third AZ to boost my immunity. But no AZ was available & I ended up with free Moderna by walkin. Guess I precipitately jumped into the world petri dish.

Personally, i don't want to contribute my carbon to climate change. Give baxk to nature.

I always try the water fountains I pass by. I'd say 90% have no water.

Love it! Here in BK we've never had hot water. This is the only time of year when I'm not sweating through, leaving puddles.

AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine (AZD1222) is manufactured under licence in Thailand by Siam Bioscience However, it seems not to be offered for primary vax series or for third-dose boosters. Both AstraZeneca and Simovac, among others, say that immunity is boosted to protect against all variants including Omicron via a third booster dose. We used Pfizer for boosters for awhile. I have been told supply has now run out in Thailand. So they’ve swtiched to using Moderna. Where is that Modern supply coming from? Third dose boosters are now widely available three months after a second primary dose. But what happened to AZ? Why aren’t we using AZ???

Royal Thai Police is offering free Moderna third dose boosters on a walk-in basis. You must have had your second dose BEFORE September 30. Registration desk opens on ground floor, Amarin Plaza (Chidlom BTS) at 8am. I arrived at 715am & there were already 300 people before me. Go early! Bring your two-dose vaccination paper, pink ID card (if you have one) and actual passport. One form is in English, another in Thai. Easy-peasy. Makes up for all those 90-day reports!
