  1. sorry mate but less than B16k per month ain't living, that's existing. that's only 533.33 baht per day. my breakfast costs more than that!
  2. I've already been greatly inconvenienced by a recent mini-flood on Silom and Ratchadamri Rds. any idea where I can buy US size 10 wellies?
  3. this is also true of the hellhole in Western Sydney where I just escaped from. so it's not unique to "the Thais".
  4. "The proposal is for the 1,000 baht visa fee and the 2,000 baht fee for Visa on Arrival to be waived until Dec 31." so it's for VOA, not TR
  5. no. but there's some pretty interesting stuff in his videos once you get past his boasts. take the good info and leave the bad stuff, that's my approach with most things now.
  6. ouch. that's a pretty jaundiced view of my beloved Patts. there's so much more to the place than that but I don't have the time right now to list them all as it will interrupt my plan to get really fkn drink on Patpong 2 tonight ????
  7. an update from Zipmex... https://zipmex.com/au/announcements/official-statement-au-010822/
  8. that's the problem with bikies isn't it? individually they're mostly probably decent blokes. but get them together and they can get a bit stupid. "touch one of us and you touch us all" etc. it's a shame that ordinary citizens don't take a leaf out of their book and punish them accordingly. especially the more violent groups like the Hells Angels. ABAB.
  9. LOL. it's quite far from where I am but that 135 baht gut buster looks quite nice ????
  10. thanks mate but I was just having a giraffe. I know where Nonthaburi is ????
  11. is Nonthaburi anywhere near Lumphini? if not then I guess I'll have to hump the bus to Patts for a semi-decent English breakfast.
  12. correct. you can't just dismiss the likes of Tony Robbins out of hand. you should always be able to learn something, even from your worst enemy.
  13. I notice that you don't start any interesting theards. at least little Sparky is having a go.
  14. seems like OP got a bunch of useful advice for his troubles. but if he needs anything further I'm sure you'll be happy to respond to his PMs. /s
  15. that sounds like a you problem.
  16. I don't have a local credit card. I've read on here that they can be hard to get without a work permit/source of funds or that your need to provide collateral. I don't have a local debit card either, still working on that. but when I do I won't keep very much money in that account. I'll transfer cash in from another account as needed. I'll also keep a big wad of cash in my pocket as backup. but you don't need a credit/debit card to pay for stuff with the Bangkok Bank (BBL) app. a lot of merchants use the QR code system to accept payment. for example, my electricity bills have a small QR code printed on them. I use the BBL app's Scan function to read this code. it pre-fills the payee and the amount. then I confirm payment by entering my PIN. so I have total control over the funds from the get-go. you can also use this QR code system at other merchants although it's not as widespread as it could be. eg. my local Seven doesn't seem to support it. as for their beer prices, will I live in Lumphini, Bangkok and don't have a car so it's easier just to do the short walk to the local inconvenience store. if you buy in bulk you drink in bulk is my experience.
  17. TIT. get over it as it's not going to change any time soon, regardless of how much you impotent farang huff and puff.
  18. you're in denial. you should re-read your post, it's one big long whinge. you sound like you lost The Game. maybe a trip back home to Utopia might ease your pain.
  19. in the old days we used to go to Dr Belen for our bell-ends ????
  20. the world is run by thieves, why should little Somchai miss out on all the action?
