  1. He's obviously American and "checking account" has a different meaning Stateside. From what I can gather it simply means an everyday transaction account as they call it in Australia. https://www.capitalone.com/bank/money-management/banking-basics/benefits-of-checking-accounts/
  2. Wise move and one I did myself many years ago, albeit at a much younger age than yourself (I was 28). Friends who stayed in S.E.A. when their funds ran out ended up in low-paid jobs and now have no money to their name despite working for 25-odd years.
  3. I dunno what third-world hellhole that was in but here in South-East Asia things are working fine travel-wise ????
  4. But it doesn't go to the Revenue Department, it goes to the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited. https://thailand.go.th/issue-focus-detail/002_021
  5. Your not one of those GNU/Linux fanbois are you? Or worse, a crApple fanatic! ????
  6. I get the impression that SP don't support agents. This is based on a single experience that a friend went through so obviously not universal and I'm happy to be corrected if anyone knows an agent that services that office.
  7. Nope, IO was spot on. 8th of May plus 30 complete days = 6th of June.
  8. Again, the 700 baht international Passenger Service Charge is a fee levied by the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, not the Revenue Department. The Revenue Department don't have to justify anything to anyone, well except their political backers I guess. https://thailand.go.th/issue-focus-detail/002_021
  9. No, tax goes to the Revenue Department which is what this whole thread is about ????
  10. It's not a tax mate, it's an airport charge. @bradistonhad kindly shared the cost breakdown with us a few posts above.
  11. See above. It's not a tax, it's a passenger service charge. Plenty of airports charge a similar fee.
  12. we have one green bin and one blue bin on every floor of my condo. no markings so I've no idea what each is for; the condo management didn't explain this when I moved in. I've stopped caring about this sort of stuff now and just follow what the other condo residents do, ie whatever they feel like.
  13. most of the tourist/expats that I see openly smoking weed in my area have brown skin.
  14. I'm a yuuge fan of WinDirStat for seeing where your disk space is being used. It works on 10 and 11. https://windirstat.net/
  15. OP mentioned Uniswap which is a decentralized exchange (DEX) and can be a bit tricky to use for noobs which is why I never go near it! ???? Looks like Binance have listed PEPE, I can see two Spot trading pairs via my AU account:
  16. Looks like they were using the normal method to get across the road. I haven't been there for a while but on previous visits I noticed that it was very difficult to find a gap in the traffic that was big enough to let you cross the road in one go. These dudes have probably done the same thing hundreds of times before, as have I, but this time they were unlucky because of the idiot in the car. It is food for thought though. I used to joke that it would be safer to hire a motosai to cross the road in Pattaya. Now maybe a Bolt or Grab SUV would offer the best protection short of a tank or APC ????
  17. you're proud of the unfathomable pain and misery caused by english colonisation? yikes and double yikes!
  18. Or see a psychiatrist if it's that triggering ????
