  1. I don't know why the British Police don't just spend the summer in Pattaya, they will pick half up of Britain's most wanted and bag a bucket load of paedophiles while their there.

good point, you should send a letter to scotland yard

    :jap:

Again some guys who give all of us a bad name. It's not new that there's lots of foul apples around.

Brits who're running their own red shirt rally,so many guys who get killed in road accidents and now just too many criminals.

Should be in all peoples interest to get the dirt out of here. It's not necessary that some Brits give all of them a bad name. Cheers.

  2. I hope the bomber drops dead. A plague on you, scum.

Hey, that's an incendiary comment that most of us would agree with, whatever color the bombers were, but let's face, they were reds.

How can you write such weird words? Have you ever heard about the never ending problems down the south? Ya can't point your finger on anybody now. Just wait and see.

  3. You're joking right? No matter where you go in Pattaya you can't avoid seeing the little boy bars, they're everywhere and the boys stand out in front waving their hands and parading back and forth. The only way to not see them is to close your eyes or move out of that $hithole. Try going for a walk or ride your bicycle along Dongton beach and tell me you can avoid the little boys in see-thru panties giving massages to the fat farang...the boys & katoey's are everywhere, you don't need to look..

Interesting perspective. The vast majority by an overwhelmingly degree of aggressive sexual solicitation in Pattaya is HETEROSEXUAL in nature. Sure there are gay pockets here and there, but it is no contest. Stop demonizing gays. If you are going on a rampage against prostitution in Thailand, don't be a hypocrite and focus only on gays. Also your use of the term "little boys" is highly inflammatory, as the vast majority of male sex workers in town are of LEGAL AGE, same as the vast majority of female sex workers.

BTW, kathoeys are there to attract straight men. Real gay men are not the slightest bit interested.

    How do you know?

  4. Just a couple of points

    1) Why haven't the the hotels with contamination been shut down.

    2) Have recent guest and hotel staff been told of the contamination so they have the option of getting a check up?

    3) If the elderly and smokers need to wear masks entering a contaminated site. How do they know the site is contaminated?? Did the hotel put up a sign in reception advising of Legionnaires??

    Easy answer to easy questions:

    1) Contaminated hotel stay open because they could care less about you. You spent your money, now your problem, not their problem.

    2) NO, see answer number 1

3). Thais take car of their own and give f-all about you. Again, see answer number 1

As far as wingers talking about "you live in a 3rd world country and you want everything perfect" <deleted> mate? I simply want a reasonable degree of common sense. If something is blatantly hazardous, It should be fixed.

But in Thailand that is like expecting Monkeys to fly. Time to move to Singapore.

Guess it's better for you to move on, Singapore is waiting..Your post shows your outstanding character, indeed.

  5. Bit over the top mate,

Altogether, this caused the former sailor to “snap” when Ms Wanphen approached him playfully in his bedroom asking for sex, Col Wanchai said.

Mr Fanelli stabbed Ms Wanphen once in the back then again in the chest, Col Wanchai added.

Ms Wanphen’s wrists and ankles were found broken, apparently so her body could be stuffed into the suitcase.

I’m glad to hear that they found this guy. We all might think poor Isan girl, but those who had known her would like to help this m- fuc_ker to have a ‘little accident’. To be perfectly honest, I hope they give him such a hard time in jail that he’d wish to die.........

  6. wow I lived near Chalong in Rawai beach for 1 month, in 2009, so bad, and so scary!!!!!!

Huh? I don't understand your comment. I've lived in Rawai for over four years. So what?

What about the Norwegian man with a Thai wife and two kids that was killed in a robbery just up the road from Icon a couple of years ago, no one was ever caught for that. Nor was there any reward offered by the police to help catch the killer like this case. But if this man, an American is really the one that did it, then it is good he was caught. But there seems to be something that doesn't fit. The article states: "Mr Fanelli, described as a long-term tourist, had lived at a home in Chalong with a Thai woman until the woman and her son returned to her home in the northeastern province of Mahasarakham, Col Wanchai said." If he had a preference for katoeys, why was he living with a women and her son until recently?

I agree, i've lived in Chalong for 5,5 years, and i never feeled that it was a dangerous area at all...Of course, all over Thailand, if you are looking for trouble, you will finally get one...And i also agree that something does not the story about the thai woman and the preference for ladyboys..I hope that tomorrow morning, Col Wanchai will give more details of the arrest and of the story...

Lots of lady boy lovers do have a girl friend to show others that they're 'normal'. I've met some strange guys in this country, would somebody live with a kathoey, wouldn't people start talking about him?

  7. I was in Chumphon a few months ago and heard about another american that stabbed this expat over a dispute about the king.... we'll actually the american was talking really bad about the king and some brit expat punches him in the face. The american comes back and stabs this guy up (he did not die from the stab wounds), and is release after a few weeks. I just want to remind everybody from the states that every time an american does something in this country or any other country it will be scrutinized and added to the already infamous rep we have as a nation. We are already disliked by the majority of euro's I dont want to start being disliked by thais. May god's hand act swiftly and justly upon the murderer of this innocent lady.

    Khun Cholorado,

It's not just Americans. Also Brits, Germans, Russians Australians and others who give all of us a bad name. There's good and bad in all nations, but after all they think that all foreigners. or farlangs, are criminals. Too much is going on these days. I feel sad for the death of a girl just trying to make some baht. RIP.

  8. <br>stunning news as the world goes to 20mb by then ok not wireless but bah.gif<br>

I would be very happy when a 2 Mbps wireless Internet connection will be available at a moderate price in my area (small village in Northeastern Thailand). At the moment, I can only access the worldwide web at a "decent" speed (1 Mbps at its best) via an expensive (almost 2800 baht per month) and not always reliable during the rainy season TOT iPSTAR Satellite broadband connection and no, alas, CAT CDMA-EVDO Rev. A is not available where I live (I'm located too far from their nearest access point).

Why not move to civilization? What's the point of retiring if you need to live on rice and beans? I don't get it when other foreigners say they live in far regions of Thailand but complain about the prices of produce, supplies, electronics, internet. You are living out there for a reason and this is not one of them.

yeah, you cant have your somtum and eat it too :D

Why not move to civilization? Rice and beans? We're living 'out there' for some reasons. One could be people like you. I don't get it when people like you are writing stories about things they obviously don't know.

  9. Firstly i dont think they are talking about wi-fi they mean wireless interne (2.5g or 3g or whatever you want to call it) at a speed of 2mb.

Long range wi-fi is called wi-max but i dont think thats what they mean.

Anyway.... I have a 3g (about 1.5mbps) wireless internet connection in Thailand about 8 years ago.. and it worked everywhere apart from Bangkok and Pattaya. It is CAT telecoms EVDO service.. intially i had a sierra wirelesss aircard to make it work before they had the usb dongles.

It was fantastic.. made Thailand leaps and bounds ahead of many western countries with their coverage.. and you couldnt beat the price 600baht per month unlimited in any country I have ever been in even now~~

So who says Thailand is far behind in Internet connectivity ???

Thailand has had 3g for around 8 years!

    Thailand is amazing!!!

  10. It's a blatant scam by the hospitals. They are exploiting sick people. It's so obvious that there was no need for a "Thinktank" to be revealing this.

Hospitals, as respected institutions of society on which many people's lives are dependent on every day, should be upholding ethical practices.

I felt so disgusted when I compared the prices of medicine that I had bought in a hospital with prices in Boots pharmacy. From then whenever I visit a doctor in a hospital I tell the doctor that I will buy the medicine outside.

It’s not just the prices for medicine. I had a motorcycle accident last September and had to see the doctor in a hospital located in the Lower North east every month.

I do have insurance but sometimes I had to pay for unnecessary X-rays, Calcium and other nonsense, the insurance company should cover. (Guess they did!)

Time to wake up for all doctors, nurses and politicians involved.

My wife was born 23 km away in a village which belongs to the city we’re living. She has to pay the full bill here, I just don’t get it. To ask questions why it is like this is like running against a wall full of ignorance.

  11. Seems the Swedes are a target over the last few news articles - one gets out after 10 years and the other looking to take his place for the balance of time. Is there something in the water in Sweden?

    blink.gif

Guess it’s just a ‘pay back’, because the Swedes let them Thais pick their berries under incredible circumstances.

What a weird world, Iranians got busted at the airport, while he was producing it in Rayong. At least he’s not a smuggler. Smoerebroet might be gone for a while.

Swedes are really outstanding, doesn’t matter what they do…helping tourist police to arrest a guy who had 0.8.gram of Ganja.

Guess they should hide behind trees, what they’re doing in their country.

I won’t buy a Volvo now, these guys are so weird.
