  1. Whats your opinion on this?

I made my first 90 online application about 10 days ago and it was rejected - after studying it I realizzed that I had sent it 17 days in advance instead of the required 15.

So I resubmitted with 14 days to go. That was 7 days ago and the when I check the status online it says "not approved". Is this the norm, should I wait or plan to go and do it manually at CW?

I got refused a non O-A at the embassy in London because I was under 65! I pointed out to the woman that the age limit was 50, "Not in the UK" she replied, " Need to be 65 in UK, 50 in Thailand".

I returned with a printout from the Thai Embassy, London website, clearly stating that the lower age limit was 50. The young woman looked at the printout and declared, " This is not from our website, it's fake". I never did get my non O-A.

I had a similar expereince in London, a year ago - the young lady told me I could not get an OX (despite me pointing out my full application was within the offical rules) and told I should apply for an OA as it was easier, I asked about age and she said my age (54 at the time) was OK.

There seem to be many stories of London changing the "rules" at their whim.

You create an account. You fill in the online application, attach your documents and pay the visa fee. Send the file and attachment. You then wait for a confirmation email that you have either been granted the visa or denied. If the visa is granted, you proceed back too the Gateway, log in and decide which Embassy or consulate you wish to attend.

    Hi,

the video will not play on my bush connection - does this include all types of visa do you see? i.e. applying for an OA from Thiland and then going to pick it up when in UK or going to, say, malaysia to gte it stamped into the passort.

Aplogies for asking but I cannot see the video here.

  4. "I believe there may be some issues with "changing" the vehicle from a registration point of view."

Yes but you can do the paperwork after the carryboy is fitted. Carryboy will give you a document and a receipt and you just go to the raod licensing dept to change the blue book (they put a small stamp in it to note the change).

If you car requires an MOT then the MOT sevices now cannot do the MOT unless the blue book has the stamp that notes the carryboy has been fitted.

Its super easy to do - just requires you to go to nearest road licensing department to do it. I did it on the sukhumvit 57 one - took about 30 minutes.

TE was advised by immigration that the approval process would take “approximately one month.”

That is interesting. Especially with the Big J comments last week on the 10 year visa (which some believe may just be an extension of the current 10 year OX visa in terms of countries that qualify or age limits as there seems no cabinet approval issued for a new type of visa).

  6. Anyone using the tidal app on an apple TV?

I have it installed but I can only play about one song in 10 I choose and I keep getting a little red circle with a line through it in the lower left corner of the screen. The song will not download and play for some reason

Strange thing is if I play tidal through plex (on the apple tv) it works well (but in plex you do not get the full menu system of tidal).

  7. Its nothing but a media piece trying to prompt propoganda that she's an honest working person with a job.

Taksin was particulary famed for manipulating the media in this way, and the media play along because their owners are politicos as well.

Get ready for more - it is just a starter piece that will feed to another story and then another over the coming months, before the election. To fuel whatever outcome they want to target.

  8. I need to go to the UK in the 3rd week of Feb and stay a couple of weeks. I want to travel business class (direct or 1 stop) but have seen a marked price increase over this time last year when I flew the route. This time last year average price was 80-90,000 baht.

If anyone sees/notices any OK rates/deals on business class BKK/LHR/BKK pls do let me know.

    Cheers!

  9. Sadly this whole sad sorry situation is now not about a deal (good or bad) as Labour see it as their chance to take power so will do nothing conciliatory. Theres a similar group in the Tories who see it just as a way of increasing their personal power. Meanwhile the EU will not make any concessions, in part because Labour is now promising a second referendum as part of the election grab ploy - a second referendum would see a "remain" vote surely after all this, thats best option for EU.

Those here dependent on pounds should brace for a more frugal new year whichever way this goes.

  10. I see this as a good thing. I don't see it as a populist policy as we have seen the abuse of before in the past. It's not an election pledge (i.e vote for me and I will give you twice the price for your rice).

And another thing, none of the text in the article is in quotes even though it implies a quote. Which would make it a selective opinion. More poor journalism (although the "other" rag is much worse for this kind of thing).

I am not pro junta, just anti misleading press conglomerates.
