Can you get these from any Bank branch? Or just the branch your accounts were opened at?
-
Thanks Joe- it will be Chaeng Wattana.
Could you offer me a clarification this (?) .....
a) 5.3 Evidence of foreign currency fund transferred to Thailand*
b *(Documents under 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 must be issued and updated to be the same date of the Application and all documents must be in the Applicant’s name.)orWhat is the evidence of foreign currency transfer ? (note because I worked here for many years before Have the old account with the money still in it i.e. 800k)
I presume (b) means I call in the bank to get the bank letter a day before I go to CW and put that date on the application?

Hi,
I am here on a 60 day TR visa and want to change to a Non-O, so I can then later change to an extension of stay based on retirement.
Can anyone point me to a thread that gives advice/instructions/requirements for having the TR converted to a non O ?
Thanks!

A very sad day. I was fortunate enough to know him personally as well as professionally. He had a wit and a way with him that simply disarmed you. He was true gentleman and one of Thailand's real, and sadly last, true expat characters. He loved Thailand, even being more than aware of its issues.
I was away last Thursday when it happened, It saddened me greatly to find out as I had not spoken to him for about two years ...... I regret, greatly, not sending that last message I always promised myself I would but found myself too "busy".
A good man has left us. There are not many left these days.

Does anyone know what the Thai definition of "volunteer" work is?
I noted the O-X retirement visa allows work as a "volunteer" within the scope of the Thai definition - but I don't what the definition is.

Question - I am about to do the same (in London), does anyone know if the originals can be given in place of certified copies (i.e the original plus two uncertified copies) ? When I read the website I did not see anything about certification so just presumed I would handover the original (which I have no problems with)?
I am dread of flying all the way back to the UK and then having some small thing prevent my application for the visa -
Just as a side note. I was hiking today and found a tiger kill here. I asked the locals and they said it was two days old. It was a wild buffalo or something with huge horns. I speak a little thai. And asked the guy some questions. He said tiger are regular there and were after the elephant babys but could not get to them and got the buffalo. Also they showed me where bears were. I saw the marking on the trees and it was really great. A big first for me. I am heading back tomorrow to just sit and look. The locals said I needed to build a stand in the trees there to photo them? Hummmmm interesting.
Cool - Fingers crossed for you!

I commend the OP for trying. A few posters should hope that cynicism is not a fatal malady though!!
I myself have just one"law" I would like to be see amended, or officially sanctioned work around proffered. That's land ownership, why cant we buy a little bit for the purposes of living on?
-
To get back to the OPs question - Thai price if you show a residents permit OR an official Thai ID card, otherwise full Farang price. Some parks have internal policies to allow "local farangs" (i.e. who live here but don't have a residents card) the local price. These are unofficial rates done at a local level and change depending on who is in charge. As there was a big movement of park chiefs in December they could all change again depending on the new chiefs view.

For info on birding I would suggest Nick Uption's Thaibriding.com and for Wildlife, Paul Whitehead's Wildlifethailand.com. there's a whole bunch of links on Paul's site for other Thai wildlife related sites.
Sorry a typo - Thaibirding.com

I have used it many times also - goods always came form Singapore and no problems and no tax charges to me

You have to pay - but on the bright side you dont have to go yourself - just send the maid or someone to pay and pick up your license at the station concerned.

If its serenity and nature you are looking for, then be aware it is very popular at weekends - a weekday would be a more "natural" experience

I am just NOT keen on the looks. It seems to accent the quirky looks of the versys too much and make the "ugliness" quite prominent. The versys gets away with it but this does not seem to - in my eye.
-
I had a KLX b4 moving to the versys and my main riding is the daily commute, unfortunately. . I wish I had not sold the KLX! Really enjoy the Versys but in city traffic I wish I had the mobility and lightness of the KLX again.Only thing that I was not too keen on was the closeness of the gear ratios - I was forever changing gear.

The KTM dealer in on Phetchaburi, opposite the Wattana garage.
They have a big open area at the front so you test drive in that.
I think they had a bit of a hiccup when they opened with reg books - no idea if this is still an issue.
-
Beautiful - unfortunately my knees would drag along the floor
-
My main finding in this area is that thers quite a tolerance on the gear you can buy and still be comfortable - as long as you moving!
It all goes to sheet as soon as you get stuck at a lights or attempt city commuting.
As a commuter my best defence is setting off early in the morning when its still cooler - but by jiggery I sweat on the way home if I wear a FF and a jacket.
-
I also suspect that this will be seen as a high price fashion piece of theThai motorcycle world rather than a attempt at market penetration through realistic prices (for what it is).
-
A Multistrada for me also
-
Interesting - everyone will have one next year! Hope it opens the gates to others finding ways to offer good pricing.
Prob not me as the 800 mm seat height and rake would make living cramped for my old bones.
-
Another one I will sit out. Too bulky, heavy and expensive for me.
10 Year Retirement Visa
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
If I recall the translation of the official instructions says that you can apply in your "country of residence". So hopefully the situation will change at some time.
I don't know of anyone who has been successful in applying for this visa yet - I tried in my home country and failed on the 3M not being in a bank for more than 1 year (the instructions are not crystal clear on that).
