  1. I think the hotels and restaurants are just getting over Thanksgiving and are getting ready to advertise their Christmas menu which will probably be out early December. Last year went to Buomissimo and it was excellent but its now closed. Waiting to see if Holiday Inn are doing something again this year as an alternative

  2. I am thinking about purchasing a new mobile phone and not sure which one is the one for me so would appreciate any advice tv contributors can give me from their experience. The phone l am considerin buying must have GPS,Wi-Fi,internet and bluetooth. The mobiles l have been looking at are iphone4, HTC HD7,and Nokia N8. The HTC HD7 has windows 7 but l have not seen them here in Chiang Mai but l guess that the Nokia N8 with google is just as good. Thanks

  3. Gypsy runs the German restaurant opposite the Porn ping, he may be able to help you

Gypsy has quit the Rose Guest house is now in San Sai running a restaurant called Heidelberg. It is on Chiang Mai-Mae Jo road. Go past Land and Houses on the left hand side and then past the PTT petrol station for about 500 metres and its on the left.

  4. I think we bought ours for 12,000 baht at Centran or Robinsol. It didn't shave close at all.

    Siam TV or Niom Panich.

12000 baht sounds about right. Probably a lot cheaper to buy abroad.

Yes, that`s true, I have a Phillips electric shaver, never did give a close shave, even when new.

I bought a Phillips in Siam TV for about 4000 baht (special offer) They had a good selection of Phillips and Braun. Do not use the Phillips very much as does not give as good shave as my Mach 3 turbo

  5. When asking for a Pension Forecast ask specifically for them to include any "Additional" pension. They do not automatically include this. You have to ask. I have had 4 pension forecasts since 2003 and my "additonal" pension is just over £100 extra, bringing my weekly pension to £201 in total, as at about a year ago. I will be 65 in June 2012.

Wow thats a good weekly pension so l assume you are based in the UK or have a UK address. What was the "additional" pension on top of the basic that was forecasted for you. I am currently not 65 until March 2012 but will ask for a forecast. Have lived in Thailand for the last 10 years so only expecting the basic

  6. This one is said to have a drive up window.

Somebody also told me that KFC will be next door to Mcdonalds and that there will be a 20 baht parking fee at Meechok Plaza. You get a refund if the shop stamps the ticket. Also Charlie is leaving Pratties and a new owner will take over on 23 November and it will become like a UK fish & chip restaurant

  7. This hotel is ancient, did not refurbish, and is most certainly not worth $35.

You can do so much better. Imm Thapae hotel perhaps, or many others in that price range or slightly below.

Imm hotel at Thapae Gate (next to McDonalds is a fairly new hotel and is good and popular.Has a good breakfast and the last l heard it was about 1000 baht a night inc breakfast, Near all the main tourist areas.

  8. A great day out at Twickers.

    (Sorry doesn't answer your question)

Not seen it here on true visions over the past 10 years. I used to go to twickers every year as its great fun and always plenty of parties and booze available afterwards. Would be please to know if any bars are showing it this year

Would also be interested to know if anyone is able to show it.

Definitely not on True, but you can watch last April's Oprah!

Who is Oprah?. Does she play rugby

  9. A great day out at Twickers.

  10. Don't forget that Northern Farms do some great cooked turkeys that come with gravy and traditional stuffing. Have bought them there for Christmas but not sure if they do them for Thanksgiving. Not sure of the prices this year but worth a check

  11. Hi BingoB

You could join Chiang Mai golfers who play at Lanna GC every Monday and other courses during the week. I do not know who the secretary is now but you could PM me and l will give you the telephone number of the handicap secretary who will give you details,

  12. I like the selection and the decor at the Holiday Inn. It's also big and bright and airy and feels somewhat like Christmas...something not easily achieved here.

What sort of food do the Holiday Inn serve on Christmas day. Is it a traditional Christmas lunch or a buffet and what is the cost?
