  1. I was at the dam today at Doi Saket. It's not going to happen. It would have to rain 40 days and 40 nights to fill the reservoir. The offical that opened the flood gates, he received a promotion and that's why Bangkok is sinking.

    :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

  2. There are lots of long-haired dictionary's throughout Thailand. Their English is usually broken but they are useful, but sometimes can be expensive.

Seriously you might seek a college student willing to spend time teaching you while improving their English at with your dime. Get some children's books and work your way up.

  3. I believe the land goes to the mother. There is a land forum for such questions.

Mother has no blood relationship. It was her husband's mother. My wife her closest blood kin and most direct descendant.

  4. Granny died a couple of weeks ago, she had a good go at life living into her 90's. She had a small piece of land with a small home on it. The neighbors and distant relatives have stripped it bare, which wasn't much and since we've no use for the stuff, its ok with us.

The land needs to be transferred to my wife's name, therein lies the questions

!. How long a period does my wife have to do this?

    2. Can her mother do this for her or does she have to travel to Thailand to do it.?

    3. Does anyone have the phone number of land office or Amphur or wherever you go to answer questions posed if no definite answers posted. (Amphur Doi Saket)

Wife's mother is ailing and just got outta hospital, so shes not much help at this time

    Thanks all

  5. Not realy true though is it. The greedy are still getting golden goodbye's and massive pensions whilst a lot of their innocent workers are joining unemployment queues. The greedy have their million dollar lifestyles, protected pensions and off-shore tax free lump sums - whilst their ex-employees, suppliers and secondary companies (local shops and restaurants that depended on the office staff, etc) that are lossing their houses.

By greedy I suppose those who have worked harder or smarter to get what they have obtained. Very few people get ahead in life just by working a 40 hour work week, they get by, but don't get ahead. Some of those people took their money and took a risk and started a company that succeeded, did they just 40 hours per week to get it started and keep it running or did they bust their butt working 80 plus hours per week worrying about getting product out the door and meeting payrolls and taxes, ins etc

Meanwhile you the employee spent your weekends watching the tellie and some short pants men run up and down a field complaining to your fellow watchers of the tellie how poorly the company treats you as you down another beer. they are many abusers of capitalism who do get that golden parachute without the sweat that a founder went through but most work their butts off keeping a product going out the door and payroll met.

Some of the worst abuses are to come with the carbon taxes being proposed the crony capitalism will put a dent in everyone's wallet. Big labor unions and Al Gore own the CCX and Al Gore owns a big piece of the British carbon exchange. Who is out winning Noble prizes pushing an agenda that remove money from everyone's wallet without producing a product. The power given by socialist govt's with a kickback to them from carbon traders will be of such a size as to dwarf any penny enny golden parachutes. Then you'll see greed.

  6. To promote sex? Don't you thing Thailand have enough sex already?

Pay attention girl !!!! It's about sex education , not the promotion of SEX !

Even in the USA there are still children growing up without any knowledge of the

dangers of un-protected sex.Which includes, not only pregnancy but the possibility of getting

one of many sexually transferred diseases.

Also , I found after my many years here from the women I've met , some related stories of not knowing

what type of sanitary napkins or what a tampon was ; until they came to the Big Mango.

So , they teach thru displaying and create a interesting approach to instill this important knowledge about

    SEX !

Cause let's face it , everyone for the most part of their lives , are interested in learning about SEX !!!!!

That's why they plan to start teaching kindergarten classes about gay sex before hetro sex in the US I think at that age it's best left to the parents to explain any questions but Nambla is backing it and the ED Sec backs them

  7. My question, who is the TDRI and where does their money come from. Are they gov't funded or privately funded by a George Soros type person(s) who wish to transpose the gov't as the US has been transformed under Soros guidance and money with lots of Institutes and "public interest" groups all funded by a few people with a definite agenda.<br>

  8. Are the Democrats in Thailand a Consevative Party?

Demos won this election, but beat the Red Shirts which considering their backing by Communists Socialists and Unions (supported by such groups as SEIU International) are even further to the left.

The Demos are supported by normally conservative Elites but also the majority backing of the College Profs, who generally back leftist leaning parties. Does that make them a centrist party.

    Oh I'm so confused.

  9. Man United coming to town (Atlanta) in a couple of weeks to play a friendly against the US. Ought to be an interesting evening

Are you sure it's United? I'm not big on the whereabouts of places in the US but they are playing in Toronto, Philadelphia, Kansas and Houston.

However, Man City (the current richest club in the world and future best club) :D are playing in the Georgia Dome, Atlanta against Club America on the 28th july. ;)

Come on you Red's, why did no one pick up on that? :whistling:

Slip of the mind, it is the 28th at the GA Dome.

  10. My wife received a job teaching pre-school within 1 week of being in my home country and has worked her butt off since then. She mingles with some Thais but we are together 99.9 percent of our free time. She got the job of her own volition, she is a contributer; I have always known what kind of person she is because there is real genuine communication in our relationship, we are around the same age and possess similar levels of education.

Can you say the same about your wife?

My wife has Thai friends, but doesn't see them much. She works 6-7 days a week, saves most of her money for the future, and buys land in Thailand for investment, She doesn't drink or smoke, her only bad habit is a certain clothes shop  and I don't fault her for that. Shes 25 years younger than I am and we have no communication issues what so ever. She is still hot and I love and adore her and she loves me. There are no trust issues, I trust her totally as she does me.

It does rankle me that so many people whose taste in women tend to be bar girls as they don't know how, or don't wanna take the time to meet a different class of Thai Lady.

There are many good decent Thai women, don't use a broad brush to paint all with the limited knowledge you have of the total society.

  11. Your better off to watch Fox News. Fair and Balanced.

ROFLMAO! I'm sure you're being sarcastic. I'd like to have Fox News for the entertainment value, but don't currently have it on True. But fair and balanced?

He is a GB fan so what would you expect.

I rather watch Fox than the other news outlets (and I use the term loosely in their case) as they present only one sides viewpoint. You gotta know the difference between a news broadcast and an opinion show. Fox has both, CNN MSNBC CBS NBC ABC all stooges presenting no dissenting viewpoints, doesn't qualify as a free press. And without a free press freedom will disappear

  12. The USA fans can relate and understand the utter incompetence of FIFA to put such unseasoned referees into such important games. England was totally jobbed by political correctness, I don't care where the refs are from, but they should be the best and most experienced people for the job, people who know where to be standing and where to look. Just a shame it wasn't a goal for England.

  13. In football you are not allowed to 'toss it' unless you are the goalkeeper. Are you talking about some other world minority sport?

I think US has the biggest following in SA. Granted it's got a big population but even so there are tens of thousands of Americans there. Next best supported is England incidentally.

I can't think it will replace batball (is it?) or chuckball (is it?) but football is really taking off now, and US are a good team too.

Must be fun to be so obtuse, I did refer to futbol as soccer and football as played in the NFL style as football. The reply was to a previous poster speaking of the cost of US football vs the cost of (soccer ball). Just like two kids kicking a soccer ball around it takes only two kids to toss a football around. While I played soccer at a forward position and could kick it pretty well, could you throw a tight spiral to a wide receiver on a go pattern getting it into his hands and not the cornerbacks? much less hit a fastball or a curve in baseball.

What does it matter what we call the games we play to you, does it make you feel inferior or superior it shouldn't do either. The names were attached before the world was such a small place, before tv or radio, when people received their news by newspaper or word of mouth. We call them what we've always called them. We all are aware of the differences today, but 125-150 years ago we knew little of other countries games. We as a country were playing football in the time period we were chasing after Geronimo and I see no reason to change it to suit the rest of the worlds definition.

Don't more people in the world refer to soccer as futbol rather than football. A pretty lame sentence and as useless as the arguement that our game is misnamed. It is what it is.

  14. i read that there are 60,000,000 americans participating in football (soccer) today. It is a natural, cost effective replacement for grid iron as the quipment cost is a foot ball, size is not an issue, and health and saftey is great for the kids, will it ever be in the top 3 sports for the yanks, doubt it but it will be in the same rank as track and field, swimming, and ahead of rugby.

I doubt that one fifth of the US population is participating in soccer, it's iffy that even one fifth watches it.

I grew up playing sports of all type. To play football at a minimum took a football and some one to toss it to. Basketball took a basketball and the nearest schoolyard that had a basketball court, others to play made it more enjoyable. That same schoolyard had a baseball diamond and a wall. Enough people and you played baseball, with two people there was a wall to play stickball or even handball, just took two people to play those. Soccer wasn't even a school sponsored sport, I played for my school through the city rec leagues. As far as safety I had my worst injuries playing soccer. BTW rugby is gaining in popularity
