  1. Pretty cool temple, not been there...like the roof colour.
  2. Yes, that should do it..it's so arbitrary isn't it...?
  3. It may have been that actually....spur of moment over-reach.
  4. https://bringanoodle.org/portfolio-items/howtogetoutofrip/ Very useful above, I knew zero on rip-tides. People tire themselves out fighting it. I think simple solution in Thailand is graphic icon warnings at frequent point along beaches along with flag system.
  5. Sad days with the current choice of 2. There should be an independent clear mental health check on any candidate and an upper age limit to serve. That would disqualify both of them.
  6. With Korea perhaps the treatment of Thais generally there and by immigration officers...or Korea took a step-down on ease of entry for Thais.
  7. Part of it may be they feel they can mask their neurodivergence through the culture gap..and I'm not kidding. Aka the "wandering misfit types".... Thais are way more forgiving of weird foreigner behaviour and put it down the 'farang ways'.
  8. You may be, but simply I think people who drown are probably unaware of the flag system and its meaning to stay out the water...
  9. It used to be that this service for foreigners was restricted then, wasn't it ? Which is why one non-bank company in Bangkok was recommended for outwards remittance ?
  10. Crazily 19+ is by-the-book legal age for sex in Thailand. The exact law has been quoted in another recent thread where a teacher got busted for lower than 17 under-age sex. So you could get unstuck even if tinder etc classes 18 and up as adult and allowed. It's a law that can be enforced more often against foreigners...you can potentially be opening up yourself for extortion if you part with a chick in a bad way or parents hear of it...of course it would rarely be used against Thais.... You only think these westerners are angry at you..you are projecting and signalling your fear no dount. Just don't look at them....simple.
  11. I think simply they do not know the red flag system, or even register it as they step-in.
  12. Just swings and roundabouts depending on what ticks your box in UK vs Thailand. Been done to death...point out one plus point from either country and all the negatives soon pointed out. Dairy and beer may be more expensive in Thailand but no *council tax* pays quite a lot of that higher Thai costing on dairy/beer.
  13. Is it a bird, is it a plane....? It's....................a bird !
  14. I suppose people who do not swim frequently do not register a red flag and instead signs in multiple languages makes the penny drop for people about to go in the water if spaced near enough to see..or danger icons.... I'd not even think to look for a red flag and would assess wind/waves from the shore if going in at all...
  15. Yes. Work on your thought articulation, thread titles, caps and punctuation.
  16. "EXTRA EXTRA - Read all about it !"
  17. They exist solely I guess due to the migrant influx across Europe's porous borders - combined with their higher welfare benefits migrants maybe can claim vs other Euro countries ?
  18. Not even discussed back in UK where I am..non-subject/non-news event now. Everyone wants to forget basically.
  19. I feel for your situation...glad I have no kids and was in a long-term relationship north Thailand also. Just now I've escaped from her through events back in home country. It may be my stage-exit also, as we have compatibility issues. Be good if you could take your kid back but unlikely unless the mother allowed that.
