Unfortunately the words Government and accountable don't go together here.

Bitten or shot says alot for those in charge, if they cannot tell the difference, no wonder there are two Burmese in jail for koh tao murders. What else would you expect for this place.
It was the life guards who thought it was shot, not sure what they've got to do with the Burmese in jail...

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is a global motorcycle fund-raising event to raise awareness of prostate cancer and male suicide prevention.
The procession leaves from Chillva market at 1300 (just near the big Tesco), 431 Yaowarat Rd via route 402 and finishes at Saphan Hin just before 1400.
They’ll be lots of nice bikes to check out and stalls ect.

My bad, the procession starts and finishes at Chillva market.

On most beaches the Red Flag system is a total joke, as they are never taken down during the low season. Now rope needs to be used, as many people do not trust, that Red Flag means that its dangerous to swim.
Your comment definitely doesn't apply to Nai Harn, I see them being correctly repositioned regularly.

"Phuket is a top destination for tourists and defending them against crime is our job. Tourist police always support Phuket’s policeman in protecting tourists.”
Absolute gold right there!!

Not all Aussies live near the beach, true comment, but we're tort from a pretty young age what the flags mean, strange that they ignored them, I wonder if they'd immigrated there in the not too distant past?

When I lived in Patong 25 years ago there wasn't a tunnel.
I do know that the RTP are basically a bunch of thieves after many, many years of driving cars and riding motorbikes here.
When i lived in Patong there was no tunnel either what's that got to do with anything?
In Fact going by your above statement not only was there no tunnel, there was no you either.

You know nothing. I am not deluded.
How many motorbikes have you seen pulled over and charged for riding through a Phuket underpass?

Old and outdated rule that should be dumped or reformed.

How is it a money spinner?

And 2 others at Nai Harn.
I watched life guards a few days ago trying tell Chinese tourists where to swim, pointing out the explanation in Chinese on the red flag and via sign language, they walked to the area between the red/yellow flags then walked back to where the obvious rip was between the red flags and tried to go in again, then guards came back and a bit more aggressively(they have a lot more patients than I) told them again.
Theses people just have NFI or common sense, as a group you'd think there'd be at least one with enough grey matter to work it out, surely if you're not at all familiar with the ocean, especially when it's very rough self preservation should kick in?

"The State", a UK series about people going to Syria to fight with ISIS.
"Snowfall", an 80s CIA, drug dealers type series seems good so far.

Definitely the South via Chalong, will take a bit of time at the circle but a much safer option.
